3 Easy Stampin' Up! Hot Foil Cards with Butterfly Flight Dies

Stampin' Up! Hot Foil Cards are an easy way to add luxurious shine and elegant details to your handmade cards. If you've been curious about the new Stampin' Up! Hot Foil System, these three butterfly card designs are the perfect place to start. Using the Butterfly Flight Hot Foil Dies, shimmering paper, and simple layers, you'll create cards that look beautifully detailed without adding complicated techniques.

I love projects that let one product do most of the work, and that's exactly what happens here. The Butterfly Flight Hot Foil Dies create gorgeous metallic butterflies that become the star of each design, while the soft Petal Pink and white color palette keeps the finished cards elegant and timeless.

Whether you're making a quick hello card or sending encouragement to someone special, these three layouts are easy to recreate and even easier to customize with your favorite foil colors, sentiments, and embellishments.

How to Make These Stampin' Up! Hot Foil Butterfly Cards

There's something almost magical about watching metallic foil transfer onto cardstock. One pass through the machine transforms a simple die into a brilliant gold butterfly that instantly becomes the star of the card.

In today's tutorial, I'm sharing three easy card layouts using the new Stampin' Up! Hot Foil System. You'll see how changing the butterfly size and placement creates three completely different looks while using the very same supplies. It's a great project if you're new to hot foiling or just looking for quick, elegant card ideas.

Three Hot Foiled Cards Using The Stampin’ Up! Butterfly Flight Hot Foil Dies

Butterfly Card #1 Landscape View

Card #1: Turn the card base to the landscape position and place the Shimmering cardstock toward the upper left, leaving about a 1/4” gap at the top and left edges. Large butterfly, dimensionals on the back, placed on the Specialty square, angling a bit to the right. “I’m so lucky to have you” sentiment below from center outward as shown here and in the video.

Butterfly Card #2

Card #2: Portrait Mode; Shimmering cardstock in the bottom right corner, leaving about 1/4” on the bottom and right edges. Using the smallest and next-to-smallest butterfly, adhere the smallest to the top left corner, then the other goes to the bottom right. “Just a little hello” sentiment placed at angle between the two butterflies.

Butterfly Card #3

Card #3: Shimmering Cardstock in the Center toward the top. Two butterflies—top-left and bottom-right. Adhere the sentiment “Sending bunches of love” below the decorative panel in the center.
