Fall Card and Treat Box: Two Sweet Projects for Friends

There’s something extra special about creating a fall card and treat box for someone you’re thankful for. Today I’m sharing two coordinating projects filled with pumpkins, pretty fall colors, a little sparkle, and lots of opportunities to make someone feel loved.

I used the beautiful Painted Patch Designer Series Paper for both projects. I love the unexpected colors mixed with traditional fall shades, and those sweet pumpkin patterns make these projects feel cheerful without being too serious. Plus, I always love a project that lets me show off several patterns from one package of Designer Series Paper!

Make a Fall Top Mounted Z-Fold Book Fold Card

The first project is a fun Z-fold book fold card. It has a little more movement and interest than a traditional card, but it’s still very simple to put together.

I created the folded section with Petal Pink cardstock and layered it onto a Cajun Craze card base. Then I added several patterns from the Painted Patch Designer Series Paper so you can enjoy all those wonderful fall prints.

For the sentiment, I used “To a dear friend,” layered with a little Gold Foil and finished with coordinating Painted Patch adhesive-backed dots. You can easily change the sentiment or Designer Series Paper placement and give this card a completely different look.

• Cajun Craze: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

• Petal Pink: 4" x 6 1/4"

  • Score at 1 1/2"

  • Score again at 3"

Create a Coordinating Fall Treat Box

Of course, a pretty card is even more fun when it comes with a treat!

For the second project, I turned the largest Scallop Christmas Cheer die into a little open treat box. I love finding unexpected ways to use my dies, and this one makes such a cute little favor.

The box coordinates with the card using the same Painted Patch paper, Cajun Craze cardstock, and embellishments. I added a die-cut pumpkin to the front and stamped “Thankful for you” on the back. Cindy notes that you can change the sentiment to fit birthdays or other occasions too.

Then comes one of my favorite parts: the treats! I tucked some autumn candy mix into an iridescent treat bag and tied it with Calypso Coral and Copper Bordered Ribbon. A little sparkle never hurts, right? 🌺✨ Cindy even laughs that she normally doesn’t get overly excited about ribbon, but this one immediately earned a spot in her craft room.

Scoring
I recommend following the scallops rather than relying on exact measurements, but it’s approximately:

• Side score lines: approximately 3/4"

• Center score lines: 2 3/8" from each end
