Stamp Camp Projects

When I design projects for classes or events, I always like their to be a theme or featured product that is displayed on what I create.  Our Stamping In Paradise Stamp Camp Projects all had these things in common.  They carried the same color scheme (Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green, and Real Red).  They all displayed a piece of This Christmas Designer Series Paper.  Most of them had touches of gold by using Gold Foil Sheets or Gold Sequins and some had white ribbon accents.

The first project was this card created with the adorable Merry Tags Framelit Dies and a brand new embossing folder called Pine Bough that displays a beautiful pine branch pattern.  The greeting on this card came from the set Wonderful Year which I also used on the next project as well.

Project two was a index card booklet.  This cute booklet is bound together with a one inch book ring.  This book is really cute and very useful for the upcoming Holiday Season which I like to refer to as "The Most Wonderful Time of the Year" which is why I chose this sentiment for the front of the book.

This book is the perfect size to throw in your purse and use for your daily "to do" list or use it as a Holiday planner.  You could also use it as a journal to record special memories during the holidays.

The next project was a box.  The box is adorned with beautiful pine branches with gold and silver accents.  These items come from our Present and Pinecones collection.  My favorite part of this project is the pine boughs that were created with the Pretty Pines Thinlit Dies.  They are so beautiful and almost look real.  The sentiment on this box comes from the Candy Cane Christmas stamp set.

The inside of the box contained wrapped hershey nuggets.

This quick and simple box makes for the perfect packaging for a small gift or a handful of holiday candy.

The next card is probably my favorite.  I found a way to use the Pineapple stamp in a more practical way.  I removed the crown from the base of the pineapple of my stamp so it would make it divided the stamp in two, in order to make it easier to stamp the pineapple in multiple colors.

Since another one of the stamp sets I would be highlighting at this event was Here's To Cheers, I found the perfect sentiment from that set to match this card.

The final project and probably the one that got the most compliments was our Here's to Cheers Sparkling Cider project.

Here's To Cheers Sparkling Cider Bottle - www.stampedwithaloha.com

Here's To Cheers Sparkling Cider Bottle - www.stampedwithaloha.com

This bottle was wrapped with red glimmer paper and a gold foil reindeer stands out on the front with his rhinestone nose that has been colored with a red sharpie pen.  The tag on the top of the bottle comes from our new Cheerful Tags Framelits that has this amazing tag that is made to slip over the top of bottles to create a hanging tag.  Love that this project is Sparkling in many ways from the cider to the glimmer paper, rhinestones and the sparkling sentiment this project definitely displays a super sparkly gift that would be fun to give away this Holiday season.  These large gusseted cello bags are also wonderful too, they are designed with this type of project in mind.

Well, I hope you enjoyed a closer look at our Stamp Camp projects.  I certainly enjoyed creating them and even more so seeing the smiling faces of everyone at camp enjoying putting them together.

I hope this post has given you some inspiration for projects you may want to recreate this Holiday season.

Stamping In Paradise

This past weekend was our Stamped With Aloha Stamping In Paradise Event where we created all of these fabulous projects in the comfort of an air conditioned venue located in lush Manoa Valley at Paradise Park.  In my next post I'll show a close up and share a little bit about these camp projects but for today I just wanted to share about the amazing day we all spent Stamping in Paradise together.

The day started bright and early.  It was a beautiful day.  I got dressed in my brand new Stamped With Aloha t-shirt that would be making its debut appearance at the event.   The shirt says, "Be A Pineapple" on the front.  Why exactly should you be a pineapple you might ask?  Well, you'll have to read the back of the shirt to answer that question.

The back of the shirt says:  "Stand Tall, Wear a Crown and Be Sweet on the Inside".  I love this saying and couldn't wait to debut these shirts at our event.

The team arrived early at the event as there was a lot of setting up to do.

This was a ton of work but in addition to our team we had these two amazing guys helping us!

Pam prepared the refreshments for this camp and as usual went over the top with cuteness and creativity!

The team gathered to say a blessing over the event and then we opened the door in this new venue for our very first camp experience.

Then we opened the doors to the happy campers who were waiting outside.

Everyone came in and got settled and got right to work.

At this camp we did our first ever Swap and Drop.  This style of swapping is kind of like trick or treating.   This style gave everyone who attended the opportunity to get everyone's swap and meet them face to face as they did it.  It required an early swap deadline and commitment to bring an exact number of swaps and it worked beautifully.

I was so thrilled how everyone came prepared with the right number of cards and the holiday creations they made were super cute too as you can see from the cards Berd has below.

We got such rave reviews on this style of swapping that many of my downline asked if we could swap like this at our monthly Inspiration Night... so its in the works to see if we can make this a permanent change for all our events.  I'm so happy it was so well received.

We also altered the way we did door prizes and we held a prize patrol instead.  Everyone who attended won a hand stamped item that each of us had designed to highlight a specific catalog item.

Jodi shared about three of our amazing Holiday kits and her prize was three separate samples from each of those featured kits.

Eve was one of the lucky recipients of Jodi's Prize Patrol.

Zeny loves to make boxes so naturally her Prize Patrol was this cute self closing box and it included some extra DSP too!

Lynn was the lucky winner of Norine's Washi Tape Prize Patrol.  This one included Washi Tape Cards and Washi Tape.

We also created Prize Baskets.  We all came up with different themes for our prize baskets that were valued at a minimum of $50 each.  The team did a fabulous job coming up with creative baskets.

This was the one I made, a Pineapple themed basket of course.  I have always wanted to make one of those candy pineapples so I took one of the extra apple cider bottles, made a crown out of green card stock and hot glued candy on the bottle to resemble a pineapple.  This basket also included the Pineapple stamp, Crushed Curry and Old Olive card stock and ink as well as various shades of green, yellow and gold ribbon.

Shanda also went home with a basket Norine had created that had a texture impressions machine and lots of embossing folders so she could texture card stock to her hearts content!

We had some surprise entertainment from this musician who plays for the guests at the Treetops restaurant upstairs.  He wandered in to see what we were up to and in addition to quietly singing some Hawaiian songs he also sang Silent Night when he noticed we were working on Christmas projects.  It was a sweet suprise.

This was our first time in this venue and we hope to return again.  We learned a great deal how we would make adjustments to make the next one even better.

We got great feedback from all who attended.  I don't think I ever had so many hugs on the way out from happy campers who wanted to show their appreciation.  I received some great emails and text messages after the event as well with several thanking us for all the hard work and telling us they can't wait till the next one.

So many shared about how much they loved Pam's treats.  They appreciated all the little creative ways Pam displayed the food that not only looked pretty but tasted delicious which resulted in several people asking for her recipes.

Pam has a way of making everything special.  I love how she took a hole punch and added a tag to each of the plastic drinking cups.  What a cheerful addition when serving a fun Holiday punch and so simple too.

In addition to all the special treats, Pam served a delicious White Chicken Chili at the event and everyone was begging her for the recipe.  So she kindly shared it with me so I could post it here for all of you.

I hope that everyone who came enjoyed our first Stamp Camp.  We enjoyed it so much we are already working on one for early next year during Saleabration.  We hope to have everything set in the next week or two so that we can secure a date to share with all of you.

A special thank you to the amazing team who worked so hard to make this a success and to all of you who attended.  Please continue to give us feedback on how we can improve the experience for you because providing you with an opportunity for inspiration, creativity, sharing and fun is at the heart of what we do.

Be sure to check my next post to take a closer look at all of the Stamping In Paradise Projects we created at this fabulous event.

Until then I hope you've enjoyed hearing about and seeing pictures of this special day.  I hope that next time we have a Stamp Camp if you weren't able to be there that you will join us at our next event.

Birthday Blooms

Saturday was our Stamping In Paradise Stamp Camp as well as our Stampin Sister Roxanne's Birthday!  Roxanne decided that she'd like to spend part of her special day stamping with us.

Celebrating Roxanne at Stamping In Paradise - www.stampedwithaloha.com

Roxanne is such a blessing to all of us in our Stampin' Ohana.  I am so thankful for her and I was especially honored that she chose to spend a large part of her birthday at our event.

Surprise Serenade - www.stampedwithaloha.com

Surprise Serenade - www.stampedwithaloha.com

Although it wasn't planned one of the musicians who serenades people at the park wandered into our room to sing for us and when he found out it was Roxanne's birthday he sang a song for the birthday girl.  What a special treat!

Since I knew Roxanne's Birthday was the same day as the event I wanted to bring her a card to bless her with that day.

www.stampedwithaloha.com

This card was made with the stamp set Birthday Blooms.  The technique I used on this card is the spotlight technique which is done when you punch out a small section of a stamped image and create a focal point by only coloring that section.  Then you mount the colored part exactly above the matching image just as if you were lining up a puzzle peace.

I really like the color combination of Blushing Bride and Basic Black and spotlighting a section with Real Red.  The contrast is so vibrant and beautiful.   I even found a way to incorporate the Halloween Night Specialty Designer Series Paper which has silver spots that add shimmer to the back ground of this card.

Our Stamp Camp was really great and I hope Roxanne enjoyed every minute of it.  I have lots more photos to share in my next post of the projects we created as well as the people who came to enjoy an afternoon of Holiday inspiration, creativity and fun.

I hope that our dear Stampin Sister Roxanne felt honored that day with lots of birthday hugs, songs and wishes as she celebrated part of her special day with all of us Stamping in Paradise.
