Truly Grateful

My friend Annie will be celebrating her birthday this week.  Since I am traveling to the Stampin' Up! Incentive trip to Alaska, I knew I would miss her special day.  So, before I left the island, I took her out to lunch to celebrate a little early.

Annie and Cindy

Annie is a Pampered Chef consultant who loves Stampin' Up!.  I am a Stampin' Up! demonstrator who loves Pampered Chef!  So, needless to say, we make a great pair.  A typical conversation between us might be, "I need to order a couple of ink pads", says Annie.  "Well, I need another mini spatula, cause you know you can never have just one of those", says Cindy.  Let the trading begin!

Choosing what card to make for Annie was simple this year.  I wanted to use the Tropical Chic set because I know Annie loves Monstera leaves and the Tropical Chic set and coordinating Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper has many beautiful Monstera images for her to enjoy!

Here is the card I created with Annie in mind.

Tropical Chic Birthday Card

Tropical Chic Birthday Card

I love the bold and bright colors on this card, especially the bright Granny Apple Green that is embossed with the Climbing Vine Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  For the "red" on this card I chose Poppy Parade.  I love how vibrant it is on the flowers.  If you look closely, you can see some of our new Basic Adhesive Back Sequins that I added to the card.  They are so pretty.

The Tropical Chic set doesn't have a Happy Birthday stamp in it, so I found this birthday sentiment in the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set.

I was really happy how this card turned out and was glad it made Annie happy too!  Especially since inside this bag was the Tropical Chic Bundle and a few other Stampin' Up! goodies I knew she would enjoy!

My friend Annie

I am truly grateful for Annie!!!  She has been a listening ear, offered wise counsel and been there to encourage and inspire me.  Annie has a heart for people and I have witnessed her many times putting others needs before her own.

Since I was preparing to go to Alaska, I decided to use this card inspired by my sweet friend, to be my swap card for the trip.  The only difference is, I changed the sentiment to the "thank you" that comes in the Tropical Chic stamp set.

Here is the Thank You card I made for my cruise swap.

I am really getting excited to go on the cruise.  I love traveling and am blessed that my job, as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, provides me with an opportunity to work hard to earn a free trip.  The cruise will be amazing, but you know what I'm most excited about?  It's being reunited with so many of my demonstrator friends and having the opportunity to meet new demonstrators who I haven't met before.

There is something so special about our community at Stampin' Up!  It is being a part of this wonderful company that has provided a way for me to make lasting friendship with other demonstrators, customers and downline, who like Annie, have become family to me and for that I am truly grateful.

False Alarm

A few days ago while having lunch with a friend I was told that one of my stamping sisters had unexpectedly passed away.  I was stunned.  This girl was young and healthy and so full of life the last time I had spoken to her.  As I continued to hear about the situation something didn't feel right to me,  After all, hadn't I just spoken to her recently?  I did some research to discover that my stamping sister was alive!  It turned out that there was a miscommunication and although sadly someone died, it was not my friend.

This reminded me of the false alarm we experienced in the state of Hawaii just a few days prior.  Early on a Saturday morning, we received alerts our phones telling us to seek shelter immediately because a bomb was headed our way and it was not a drill.

In both cases, there was a 10 to 15 minute period of time where everything stopped.  I began to think of my family and friends.  Had I been there when they needed me?  Had I told them how much I loved them or even more importantly did I remind them how much God loved them?  Going through this experience made me want to work harder at showing my love and appreciation for those God brings across my path.

When I held my first stamp a stack class for the new year, I was so happy to see everyone!    Hugging them all a little tighter that morning.

Dene is holding the first card we made at class.  It was a thank you card.   What an appropriate place to start because of all the thankfulness I was feeling that morning.  Especially for people like Dene who has been such a wonderful customer and friend to me for many, many years.

Here is a close up of the card.

This card featured a lot of brand new product.  I used the Scattered Sequins dynamic textured impressions folder for texture.  I colored the roses with our new Stampin' Blends. The stamp is new as well, its called Petal Palette and has coordinating designer paper called Petal Passion.  In fact, this gorgeous black and white paper was the featured product in my class and could be seen on all my samples that day.

The next card gave me another opportunity to show the Stampin Blends on a sweet card made with our new set called Bird Banter.  Everyone really seemed to enjoy coloring the birds for this cute birthday card.

I love the sentiment on this card and the cute little hat you can add to any image in the set.

I also love the bold black and white print of the Petal Passion designer paper.  It is great for masculine cards.

The next card we created was a Valentine Card.

It was fun to see everyone's faces light up when they saw the Stamparatus.  A new stamp positioning tool that will be available soon.

I used it for the first time at my Stamp a Stack class to create this Valentine card with the Sure Do Love You stamp set.  Cheryl, pictured above with her friend Wray, said she can't wait to get her own Stamparatus.

Have you seen or heard about the Stamparatus yet?   Here is a video to learn a little more about it.

This tool costs $49 and will be available soon.  If you would like me to put your name on a waiting list to get one, like Cheryl did, let me know.

My final card of the class featured not only the Petal Passion Designer Paper but also my favorite Saleabration stamp set called Party Pandas.

Just look at all my panda loving friends who are equally excited about this adorable set that you can earn for FREE with a $50 order.

Aren't these narrow note cards cute?  They are new and they come with cute envelopes.  The sentiments on the two outside cards is from the Petal Pallette stamp set.  The "just for you" on the inside card comes from the Sure Do Love You set.  I love to show how versatile our products are by using them on multiple projects.

Our class came to an end with a very unexpected surprise.  Two of my long time downline and stamping sisters who live in the mainland came over to visit me!!!!  I love these ladies and felt so blessed that they were both here at the same time.

Laura and Mary are in Hawaii!!!

Laura and Mary are in Hawaii!!!

It was wonderful to have them here,  especially because of what I had just experienced with the false alarms.  It gave me the opportunity to share with both of them how grateful I was for their love and friendship.

Both of these false alarms resulted in the same conclusion, I know that God is in control.  My life is in His hands.  I was created to love Him and to show that love to others.  I am thankful that He has surrounded me with wonderful family and friends.  Grateful, that He has blessed me with the opportunity to share what I love and love what I do.

On Stage 2017

During this season, we take time to give thanks and count our blessings.  This year I certainly have much to be thankful for.

As you may know, 2017 was a challenging year for me.  So, when I attended On Stage, I did not expect to receive any recognition or awards because I had taken some time off during my treatment for breast cancer.

Imagine my surprise when Top Demonstrator Recognition was being announced and my name was called!!!   I found out that I ranked number 35 in the United States and number 74 in the world.  Since there are almost 50,000.00 demonstrators globally, I realize that this is truly something incredible.  What an honor!

During my treatment, there were so many people who helped to keep my business running.  I am so grateful to everyone who encouraged me, prayed for me, helped me, placed orders and supported me.  I wouldn't be receiving this honor without such kindness and loving support.

It wasn't just the special recognition that made this On Stage special, there were so many fun and memorable moments.  Here are some of the highlights.

We stayed at our favorite hotel, the Marriott at City Creek.  Here is the view from our room of the beautiful City Creek Shopping Center.

When it was time for the general session to begin we could always count on  Martha to be in line early to scope out the best seats.  Can you spot her waving to me in this picture?

It is always fun to gather with my Stamped With Aloha ohana.  Once again this year our team uniform came from Manuhealii.  We always get so many compliments on their beautiful designs.  People especially love how we all choose the style of top or dress that we like best.

It was nice to run into our demonstrator friend Brenda who had also shopped at Manuhealii when she was vacationing in Hawaii a couple months ago.  Looks like she liked this same pattern too, but chose a different color.

The prize patrol was great too.  I won this gorgeous new stamp set called Beautiful Day.  Here is one of the samples that was on display.  It shows how awesome this stamp set looks when colored in with our new Stampin' Blends.

I loved seeing all the smiles of demonstrators who received special recognition as they marched across the stage.

On one of the evenings we had an advisory board reunion.  It was so much fun to catch up with these special sisters.

On Stage had many sweet moments, like spending time with Zeny who was especially thankful to find ice cream since it is her favorite treat!  If she could eat ice cream with every meal, she would.

One of my favorite moments at On Stage was when I witnessed a lady we didn't know, give her reading glasses to Kathy simply because she overheard Kathy say she forgot her glasses and couldn't see.

It's moments like these that remind me how fortunate I am to be a part of the Stampin' Up! family where I get to witness firsthand the kindness, generosity and caring hearts of my sister demonstrators.

I'm glad I was able to record this special moment shared between Kathy and Cyndi.

There were many smiles and happy faces especially when greeting friends who we haven't seen in awhile such as my sweet friend Missy pictured below.

There was also a HUGE amount of excitement over our newest tool, the Stamparatus.  Have you heard about it?  It is an innovative Stamp Positioning tool that will change the way you stamp!  Here's a video where you can learn all about it.

If you would like to order one of these tools they are currently only available by making a reservation.  You can reserve one by logging into my online store December 5th, 2017 at 2pm (MT).  Please know that this tool is extremely popular so if you aren't able to get one on the 5th there will be another opportunity on January 15th, 2018 at 2pm (MT).  If you need more information please email me privately and I'll be happy to assist you.

Well, I hope you enjoyed hearing a little about my adventures in Utah.  On Stage was a fabulous event and I feel so blessed that I was able to attend and share such a special time with so many amazing people! I really, really, really do have A LOT to be thankful for and one of those things is YOU.  Thanks for taking the time to read this and allowing me to share my adventures with you.

With love and a grateful heart,

Cindy
