Tutti Fruitti Note Cards

At the beginning of March I received this adorable card from my friend demonstrator Cheryl Hamilton.

Pineapplepanda.jpg

Cheryl's card was so cute that I decided to copy it and make it a part of my monthly stack class.

Since my class was going to feature Whisper White Note Cards, I adjusted the card stock to fit  note card size.

I love this Pineapple Designer Paper!  It is a part of the Tutti Frutti Designer Series Paper pack which is a 6 x 6 pack of Designer Paper.  This paper is so beautiful, I love all the juicy fruit!  I also love that the opposite side of the fruit design has some really great colorful patterns!

Tutti Frutti Designer Series Paper Pack

Tutti Frutti Designer Series Paper Pack

It was fun using this paper to create a whole stack of Tutti Frutti note cards.

Sometimes prepping and designing can take a long time.  However once I created the first card, I copied the template and used it on all the cards.

Tutti Frutti Note Cards - www.stampedwithaloha.com

Tutti Frutti Note Cards - www.stampedwithaloha.com

Each of these cards has the same exact measurements.  This is my 2 x 3 formula.

Background Card Stock -  3 1/4 x 4 3/4

Designer Series Paper on Bottom -  2 x 3

Focal Point -  2 x 3

Focal Point Background (raised with dimensionals) -  2 1/4 x 3 1/4

This formula is great when working with a 6 x 6 paper pack because when you cut the designer paper at 2 x 3 inches you don't have any waste.

Let's take a closer look at the cards.

This card featured not only the Tutti Frutti Designer Series paper but also the coordinating Fruit Basket stamp set.  I love these cute strawberries, they look good enough to eat.

The next card featured products from our Bubble Over Photopolymer Bundle.

When I die cut the bottle, I used Daffodil Delight Card Stock and Vellum Card Stock to give the bottle a glassy look.  I put the adorable detailed straw in between the layers and secured it with a glue dot that is hidden behind the stamped label.

The final card featured this cute bunny from the We Must Celebrate stamp set.  The words "You are the Sweetest" from the Fruit Basket Stamp set are perfect for this Sweet Bunny card.

I was really pleased with how everything came together for this class.  Everyone seemed to have a really great time including my friend demonstrator Natalie Travis was visiting from the mainland.  I'm so glad she looked me up and came over to stamp with me.

The day after class I got a call from my friend Trisha who asked if her kids could come over to make some cards for their Grandparents.  I asked Trisha if her kids would like to create one of the cards I had made for this class.  The timing was perfect because I discovered that Noah loves Pandas.

Omi was so precious when she was making her cards, she couldn't WAIT to put the flower with the rhinestone on her card.  It was obvious that this adorable girly-girl loves sparkles.  Her Mom told me her favorite color is gold!

Omi loves rhinestones!

I thought it was wonderful that Trisha provided an opportunity for her children to do something artistic and creative during their Spring Break.  It was a Win-Win situation for me cause It provided me with an opportunity to see my friend Trisha!

Noah is so artistic!

It touched my heart to see how Noah and Omi carefully wrote notes and drew pictures to put in the cards they created as "thank you's" for their Grandparents!

What great examples these two cutie pies are in the importance of expressing gratitude and spreading a little ALOHA, one stamp at a time.

Thank you Cheryl for the suprise stamped blessing.

Thank you Stampin' Up! for the amazing Tutti Frutti paper!

Thank you Trisha, Noah and Omi for showing us all what it means to inspire, create and share!

False Alarm

A few days ago while having lunch with a friend I was told that one of my stamping sisters had unexpectedly passed away.  I was stunned.  This girl was young and healthy and so full of life the last time I had spoken to her.  As I continued to hear about the situation something didn't feel right to me,  After all, hadn't I just spoken to her recently?  I did some research to discover that my stamping sister was alive!  It turned out that there was a miscommunication and although sadly someone died, it was not my friend.

This reminded me of the false alarm we experienced in the state of Hawaii just a few days prior.  Early on a Saturday morning, we received alerts our phones telling us to seek shelter immediately because a bomb was headed our way and it was not a drill.

In both cases, there was a 10 to 15 minute period of time where everything stopped.  I began to think of my family and friends.  Had I been there when they needed me?  Had I told them how much I loved them or even more importantly did I remind them how much God loved them?  Going through this experience made me want to work harder at showing my love and appreciation for those God brings across my path.

When I held my first stamp a stack class for the new year, I was so happy to see everyone!    Hugging them all a little tighter that morning.

Dene is holding the first card we made at class.  It was a thank you card.   What an appropriate place to start because of all the thankfulness I was feeling that morning.  Especially for people like Dene who has been such a wonderful customer and friend to me for many, many years.

Here is a close up of the card.

This card featured a lot of brand new product.  I used the Scattered Sequins dynamic textured impressions folder for texture.  I colored the roses with our new Stampin' Blends. The stamp is new as well, its called Petal Palette and has coordinating designer paper called Petal Passion.  In fact, this gorgeous black and white paper was the featured product in my class and could be seen on all my samples that day.

The next card gave me another opportunity to show the Stampin Blends on a sweet card made with our new set called Bird Banter.  Everyone really seemed to enjoy coloring the birds for this cute birthday card.

I love the sentiment on this card and the cute little hat you can add to any image in the set.

I also love the bold black and white print of the Petal Passion designer paper.  It is great for masculine cards.

The next card we created was a Valentine Card.

This tool costs $49 and will be available soon.  If you would like me to put your name on a waiting list to get one, like Cheryl did, let me know.

My final card of the class featured not only the Petal Passion Designer Paper but also my favorite Saleabration stamp set called Party Pandas.

Just look at all my panda loving friends who are equally excited about this adorable set that you can earn for FREE with a $50 order.

Aren't these narrow note cards cute?  They are new and they come with cute envelopes.  The sentiments on the two outside cards is from the Petal Pallette stamp set.  The "just for you" on the inside card comes from the Sure Do Love You set.  I love to show how versatile our products are by using them on multiple projects.

Our class came to an end with a very unexpected surprise.  Two of my long time downline and stamping sisters who live in the mainland came over to visit me!!!!  I love these ladies and felt so blessed that they were both here at the same time.

Laura and Mary are in Hawaii!!!

Laura and Mary are in Hawaii!!!

It was wonderful to have them here,  especially because of what I had just experienced with the false alarms.  It gave me the opportunity to share with both of them how grateful I was for their love and friendship.

Both of these false alarms resulted in the same conclusion, I know that God is in control.  My life is in His hands.  I was created to love Him and to show that love to others.  I am thankful that He has surrounded me with wonderful family and friends.  Grateful, that He has blessed me with the opportunity to share what I love and love what I do.

April Stamp A Stack

As I sit here to share today's blog entry I can here the sounds of drills and hammers nearby as my stamp room is being renovated.  I will take photos during the construction and share updates with you when the job is completed.  Until then, I have lots to share with you from classes and events that took place at the end of April.

My April stamp a stack was really fun this month.  I was excited to teach how to make these four cards.

Cindy's April Stamp A Stack Class - www.stampedwithaloha.com

Cindy's April Stamp A Stack Class - www.stampedwithaloha.com

This first card is a friendship card.  I created this card for Krista who was one of my best friends from High School.  Krista was on Oahu last month and just happened to be staying at a resort just a few minutes from my house.   I was so excited to see her because we hadn't seen each other in over 25 years.

When we said our goodbyes in High School we vowed that we would get together every few years and sadly that didn't happen as we hoped it would.

However, the mark of true friendship is that when we did get together 25 years later, we just picked up where we left off and it was wonderful to be together again!

This first card in my stack is the card I made and gave to Krista when she was here.  I am thankful that our friendship has lasted for so many years.

This card was created with the hostess set called Love You Lots and the Occasions catalog set Window Shopping.  I colored the hedgehogs with the Watercolor pencils and a blender pen.

The next card is very similar to the card I made for my Mom's birthday.  I just changed the colors and simplified it a bit so it would be appropriate as a stamp a stack card.

I sure love this stamp set, Jar of Love.  I am glad it is not retiring and will be available in our new catalog.

Card number three was created with the Swan Lake stamp set and it has such a sweet message.  It reads, "Wherever you go today....."

And speaking of precious things that brings me to my last card.  This final card was designed by my downline and friend Jodi Hashimoto.  Jodi is uber talented at making cute things.  When I saw this card it made me think of little Andrew.  I told Jodi although it was a lot of work I was going to prep the pieces so that I could teach everyone to make this adorable punch art card.  Are you ready to see it?

Punch Art Shave Ice Card - www.stampedwithaloha.com

Punch Art Shave Ice Card - www.stampedwithaloha.com

Doesn't this card just make you smile and want to eat a rainbow shave ice?  For those of you who love punch art here are the punches I used to create Jodi's card.

The head was made with crumb cake card stock and punched with a 1 1/2 circle punch.  The hair was made with basic black card stock and punched out with the 1 1/2 circle punch and then I used some paper snips to create bangs.  The face was stamped with Playful Pals stamp set and the cheeks were stamped with a pencil eraser and pink pirouette ink.  The body was punched out by using the Best Badge stamp set.  The shorts used the same Best Badge punch and a little triangle was cut out of the bottom to resemble board shorts. The Designer paper I used was from an In Color Designer Paper Stack.  The arms were made from the Cookie Cutter Builder punch.   The shave ice cone was made out of a retired banner punch and the shave ice itself was a 1 1/2 circle that I colored with sponge daubers.  Finally a clear wink of stella was brushed over the top of the shave ice to make it sparkle.  This is by far the cutest card I have made in a while all thanks to the talented Jodi Hashimoto who designed it and allowed me to teach it at my class.  I realized after reading Jodi's blog that we used a different punch to make the cone.  Her's is a little larger and I like how it covers part of the boys face.  To see the original rendition of this card on Jodi's blog, click here.

If you follow my blog you know that many of my creations are inspired by the people.   When I saw Jodi's card I immediately fell in love with it and thought of cutie patootie Andrew.   When Andrew was younger he would come in my stamp room and ask to play with my punches to make shapes.   Even at two years old he knew the names of shapes better than I did.   So I think that its quite appropriate that an adorable card make with punched shapes would be named my "Andrew card".  Take a look at the photo below and let me know if you understand why this card reminds me of precious little Andrew!

I hope you enjoyed seeing the cards that were created at my April stamp a stack.  This was the final class in my stamp room as it appears below.  I better go check on the construction and take some more pictures to share with you soon.

Fun and Fabulous

My monthly stamp a stack class is always so much fun.  I really enjoy having people come to my home for an afternoon of creativity, inspiration and fun.

Here are the cards we made at my March stamp a stack class.

Stamp A Stack Class - www.stampediwthaloha.com

Stamp A Stack Class - www.stampediwthaloha.com

This first card may look familiar to you if you read my blog post on March 21st.

The cute bunny focal point of this card is layered on top of one of our Stitched Shapes Framelits which is a product I featured at this class.

Basket Bunch Thank You Card - www.stampedwithaloha.com

On the card I posted March 21st I had fussy cut the carrots.   However, after borrowing the coordinating framelits from a friend, I decided that I needed to order them and I'm so glad I did.

The next card featured the Balloon Adventures stamp set.  Although there are lots of cute stamps in this set, I absolutely love the cloud stamp.  That is why I covered the back of this Marina Mist card stock with a whole bunch of fluffy clouds.

I LOVE the sentiment on this card!  Did you know that when you send an unexpected card and note to someone who is down you are sure to lift their spirits?

It is always such a wonderful gesture to take the time to let someone know you care and I think the best way to do that is in a hand stamped card.

The next card featured the stamp set Special Reason with the coordinating framelits.

I only used a square of gold foil to add a shiny frame to this beautifully detailed cut out flower.  The words on this card were from one of our saleabration stamps called Avant Garden.

The final card of the bunch was this Beautiful You Birthday card.  This card showed the paper piecing technique.  This technique is done when you take an outline image and stamp it onto patterned paper.  You then cut it out and place it on top of the same image that has been stamped somewhere else.  This technique is perfect for the Beautiful You stamp set as shown in the sample below.  In just minutes, you can create a whole closet full of patterned dresses in various colors for this stamped fashionista.

I used the Soft Subtles Paper stack to create a variety of colorful dresses so that each of my guests were able to make this same card using three different color schemes.

I think everyone had a blast making this card, it was definitely a class favorite.  I asked the ladies, which color did they like the most?  Everyone choose a different one.  I guess they all look nice.  It made me think that when you find a dress that fits as nicely as this one does then you should buy it in every color, at least thats what I would do!  So I guess that rule applies when stamping dresses for this beautiful fashionista too!

 Do you recognize these colors?

The first one is Sweet Sugar Plum, the Second one Peek A Book Peach and the third one Flirty Flamingo?  These are all a part of our 2015-2017 In Color Collection.  I think all three of them are beautiful!

Speaking of a beautiful trio, I'm so glad these wonderful ladies were able to stamp with me this month.

At the end of class on Sunday, Pam received a text message from her twin daughters.  They were at a friends house getting ready for the prom.    Earlier that week I had met with them to help design a simple card to help number their tables.  They were so kind to send a picture from the event and show me how the cards coordinated with their table decor and theme.

They did all the work and I think the table looks beautiful.  Hopefully people noticed their hard work! I just noticed as I was uploading this picture that everyone shown here is on their phones!  I wonder if they are texting each other asking if they want to dance?

Pam's daughters looked SO beautiful.  I'm so happy they sent this picture to share with us.  These girls are as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside. They are growing up so fast!!!

We all enjoyed seeing their beautiful smiles and gorgeous dresses.

I'm not sure if it was their photo that inspired us or the fact we had been stamping dresses that day, or because I had been up since 3:30am because I was on worship team at church that morning but we were all a little giddy and decided to send a prom picture of our own back to the girls.

As you can see, we all really had a great time at this month's class.   Sharing creativity and inspiring others to create cards to spread aloha is one of my favorite things to do and its extra special when I get to do it with such fun and fabulous stamping sisters and friends.
