Time for Tea

I am so IN LOVE with our Stampin' Up! Memories and More Card Packs!  These amazing card kits were designed to be used in scrapbooks, but they can be used in so many other ways.  In fact, we have brand new Memories and More Cards and Envelopes that are designed to be the perfect match for these gorgeous cards.

This month at my August Inspiration Night, I shared projects I had created with the Tea Room Memories and More Card Kit  The entire class required very minimal prep.  There was a tiny bit of stamping, a tiny bit of cutting and a all could be put together in a matter of minutes!  Don't you just love it when that happens?

Here are the measurements.

Most of the cards used a 4 x 6 Tea Room Memories and More card as a background card.  They all had a  2 x 3 card layered on the front behind the focal point and some, like the card below had a 2 x 3 card that was attached horizontally in the center to create a band.  The only paper I cut for all of these cards was a 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 copper foil that I layered behind the center vertical Memories and More card.

The butterflies all came from the sticker sheets that come in the kit and the only other thing I added was Jewel Rhinestones.

The next two cards contains all the exact same measurements as the card above.  It looks as if I did some stamping or coloring on the front of these cards but everything you see was already printed on the beautiful Tea Room Memories and More cards.   Just like the first card, I just added  stickers and rhinestones!

The final card had some stamping with the Time for Tea Stamp Set.  I colored the stamped image with Stampin' Blends and then layered it on to a 2 x 3 Memories and More card.  The rest of the measurements on this card are the same.  The only difference is, I didn't add a second 2 x 3 card horizontal band as in the cards above.  I did add a flower sticker and a Jewel Rhinestone though!

The final project in this set was this adorable Tea Tin.  These cute tins are a part of the Tea Room suite.

For this project I took a 4 x 6 card and cut it lengthwise to create a band to wrap around the tin.  I then cut down one of the 2 x 3 cards a tiny bit so it could add a pop or green to the front of this project.  I then stamped a sentiment and punched it out with a 2" circle punch that was layered onto a Copper Foil that had been punched out with the Starburst punch.  I tucked in a few of the pretty flower stickers and added a Jewel Rhinestone to the center.

When I shared these projects at Inspiration Night, everyone reacted in such a positive way!  I got lots of great feedback on how much they loved creating these quick and simple projects.  Many shared that they didn't even realize we sold the Memories and More Cards and Envelopes!  It was fun to point out this hidden gem that was already a part of our Stampin' Up! catalog.

I was SO impressed in working with the Memories and More cards that I used them to design all the projects in our upcoming Holiday Stamp Camp!  YES, can you believe it?? The holiday are right around the corner and  our Holiday Stamp Camp is coming soon.  It will be held on Saturday, October 27th at the Kroc Center in Kapolei.  I'll have more information out soon but for now, please save the date.  You will FLIP when you see how beautiful our Christmas Memories and More cards are!

If you are not into scrapbooking, it is highly likely that if you saw these cards you probably skimmed right past them not even realizing the potential they had!  I hope that you can now see how easy it is to use these beautiful cards.   If you haven't tried them yet then now is a great time  to order them because we have only a few days left of our Bonus Days special.  When you place a $50 order in August, you will receive a code that will give you $5 bonus dollars to spend next month.

Don't miss this great special or dare I say, perfect "Opportuni-TEA"!!!

With Love and Stamped Blessings,

Cindy

Tropical Inspiration

I just got home from my monthly Stamped With Aloha Inspiration Night.  Tonight's theme was a Tropical one where we created projects using our Tropical Escape Suite.

Tropical Escape Projects - www.stampedwithaloha.com

The first card, this punch art Haku Girl, is one that I shared in a post a few days ago.

It made me happy to find out that some of the people who came to Inspiration Night, were there because they saw this card on my blog and were anxious to make one!   It was fun to see everyone's card come to life, the hair styles and smiles all varied but all came out really cute!

The next card we made was also a punch art card that featured an Ipu Heke.  An Ipu Heke is a drum made out of gourds that is used in Hula dancing.  The shape of the Ipu was made with two circle punches.

I adorned the Ipu Heke with a fern from the Tropical Thinlits and a Crushed Curry Flower that was punched with our Bunny Builder Punch.  I placed a red rhinestone in the center of the flower to remind me of my favorite Hawaiian Hibiscus called the "Hula Girl" Hibiscus.   I take photos of these beautiful flowers all the time.  Here is a photo I took when I was in Maui last week.  Don't you think these Hula Girls are pretty?

The next card we made featured the Monstera and Fern images from the Tropical Chic stamp set This is a very simple card where I used only one color of ink on the leaves.  The ink color is a new one called Shaded Spruce.   Do you see the cute Tropical wooden flower?  These cute Tropical Elements that are also a part of the Tropical Suite create the perfect finishing touch on this simple card created for a great friend.

The final two projects that completed this set were a clear card box and pen.  This created a cute way to display or organize the tropical cards!

The RSVP pen worked great as the finishing piece to this Tropical set.  These pens can be found at most office supply store and they are easy to open and fill with your favorite designer series papers.

Tonight's gathering was really a lot of fun.  I loved all the smiles.  I think its because we are all so thrilled to have a gorgeous Tropical Suite to create projects that remind us of our beautiful home here in Hawaii.

I heard lots of laughter tonight which always makes me happy to see that people are having a good time.

I just love these ladies.  It is a blessing to see how creating with stamps, ink and paper can bring people together to experience friendship, encouragement and love.  I love the positive environment and fun we create together.

Happy Stampers at Inspiration Night

Happy Stampers at Inspiration Night

Last night, when I was sharing, these ladies really filled my tank.

As demonstrators, when we share projects, we love reactions from the audience.  If someone "oohs or ahh's" it make us happy to see that they love what we are sharing.  I made a joke the other month about how quiet they were when I was sharing and told them I'd work harder on the next months projects to hope to get a reaction from them... Well, they didn't forget.  Check out this video to see how awesome they are.

So do you want to see a close up of the cards they are "oohing" and "ahhing" over?  These cards will be featured at my class on Friday, July 6th at 5:30pm or Saturday, July 7th at 9:00am.  Be sure to subscribe to my blog or check back to see my next blog post which will feature these cards and the fabulous kit you can purchase to make them.

Until then, wishing you a happy and blessed day!

"Brusho-ed" Blessings!

At our March Inspiration Night we were blessed to have a very special guest, my very sweet friend Lynsay Mahon.  As you may know from my previous post, Lynsay and her daughter were here during Spring Break.  The timing of Lynsay's visit was perfect because I had my monthly downline Inspiration Night scheduled during the time she was here.  That meant that all my downline and stamping sisters could have an opportunity to be inspired and learn from the best.

Lynsay Mahon at Inspiration Night

Lynsay Mahon at Inspiration Night

Lynsay opened by sharing her Stampin' Up! story.   It was fun to hear about the first workshop she hosted for her Mom.  Lynsay did it as a favor to her Mom but really had no interest in stamping! After having the opportunity to see the products and spend time looking through the catalog, she decided to join!  Her Mom was surprised and delighted to have her daughter as a new recruit.

Lynsay set goals early and created a plan to really work the business.  With much hard work on her part she rose to be the number one demonstrator in Canada on more than one occasion.  Lynsay has also earned many other top honors, awards and incentive trips throughout the 15 years she has been with Stampin' Up!

Lynsay shares at Inspiration Night

Lynsay shares at Inspiration Night

Lynsay is such an excellent speaker.  We were all inspired by what she shared about the Stampin' Up! experience.

After she shared Lynsay began to lead us in a technique class that featured Brusho.  Brusho is one of our newest products, it is watercolor crystals.  Lynsay showed us how to use it in many different ways.

Here are the projects Lynsay shared with us.

Brusho Projects - www.stampedwithaloha.com

Brusho Projects - www.stampedwithaloha.com

When you use the Brusho Watercolor Crystals on your projects, it is fun to watch the color burst and come alive when you activate them with water,

Let me share with you a closer look at the Brusho techniques Lynsay taught us.

For card number one we took a Thank You stamp from the "Thankful Thoughts" stamp set and stamped it on a piece of Shimmery White Card Stock using a Black Archival stamp pad.  We then took the Blue Brusho and sprinkled it around the stamped words.  To make the Brush spread we spritzed water on top and then watched the magic happen.  The colors spread in a random pattern.  If you don't like the color, you can add more.  If it didn't spread enough, just add more water.

Thankful Thoughts Brusho Card - www.stampedwithaloha.com

If you don't like the pattern, you can even use an aqua painter to move the color around.

Each card will come out looking unique and different.  Since Perfect White accents were the featured embellishment of the night we added a few on each project.

It's important to let the card stock dry before adhering it  You can either let it dry naturally or use a heat tool to speed up the process.  If the card stock curls because it was saturated with a lot of water then after it dries use Tear N Tape to the back to stick it down.

For the next project we stamped a heart from the "Sure Do Love You" stamp set.  We then sprinkled a line of red Brusho crystals across the top of the Shimmery White Card Stock.  We carefully placed a wet baby wipe over the crystals and then dragged the color across the card to create the look below.

Project number three was made with our Shimmery Embossing Paste.  We took one of our decorative masks and laid it over the corner of the shimmery card stock.  Then we took a pallet knife and spread a thin layer of embossing paste over the mask.  We removed and cleaned the mask right away so that the quick drying paste would not be permanently stuck to the mask. Then we sprinkled some Brusho over the embossed area and sprayed it with water the same way we did on the first card.

I think it came out beautiful, don't you?

The final project was this cute lemonade holder.

For this project Lynsay showed how you can use brusho to create colorful sheets of paper by combining colors and spritzing them with water.  You can also use an aqua painter to make a unique design with the crystals as you brush them around the card stock.  After the paper dries you have uniquely colored card stock that you can use with your punches.  I just love the little speckles that are on the leaves that give them character.

We used the Lemon Builder Punch to create this cute lemon that is the focal point of this fun project.

There was so much positive feedback this month I definitely want to find a way to have Lynsay come back and share with us again in the future.

As I drove Lynsay to the airport later that evening she told me how blessed I was to have such lovely ladies on my team.  I am glad she witnessed first hand all of the aloha we share when we are together.

The Little Things

One of my favorite new products in our Holiday Catalog is our Pizza Boxes.  These cute little boxes are simple to put together.  They are very sturdy, lined with a plastic coating and are the perfect size to hold our 3 x 3 envelopes, in case you want to create mini gift cards to put inside.

For my September Inspiration Night, I designed 4 boxes for various occasions and packaged them all in a cute tall cello bag.

All of these pizza boxes were created using a stamp set called, The Little Things.  This stamp set has everything you need to create adorable projects for many different occasions.   The images are the perfect size for the box tops of the pizza boxes too!

Here are the ones I designed for this gathering.

Pizza Box one was made as an "All Occasion" box.  You can use this to wrap a birthday or graduation gift or just to make a quick thank you gift for a friend.  Inside you could put little cards, some gold wrapped candy,  a gift certificate or a small gift.

Halloween is coming soon, so that makes this next Pizza Box one that you could be creating now.  It is very "Spookylicious" and the perfect little package to hold some candy corn or favorite candy of your choice.  Since so many popular candies are packaged in orange and black wrappers this month it would be easy to find something that would be a perfect match for this treat box.

This box also has one of our new black rhinestones on the back of the little spider.  Just that tiny added touch makes this box sparkle.   This is an extra special treat for those of us gals like myself who love to add jewels to our projects.  Looks like Terry is a fan jewels too!

Speaking of sparkling, the next box we made did just that because I used red glimmer paper to make some tiny heart embellishments.  When you need to make a lot of little hearts our Mini Treat Bag Framelit has just the right piece to create mini hearts and stars in a flash!

These little hearts were adhered to a glossy white heart that I stamped using the "Sweets for my Sweet" stamp from The Little Things stamp set.

I thought the ladies might find it challenging stamping red ink on glossy paper but everyone did a great job.  The secret is having a steady hand and allowing the ink a few minutes to dry.

Did you notice that most of these boxes also used a square or circle of card stock that was run through the Big Shot with our Stitched Shapes Framelits.  That little added stitching adds the perfect touch to make these box tops look complete.

Christmas is coming so our final box was created to store some December Deliciousness.  There are so many options for this adorable box.

You could fill it with candy canes, peppermint bark, gingerbread cookies or even better yet how about some sparkly jewelry?  I think that counts as December Deliciousness too, don't you?

When all the boxes were complete I had everyone make this tiny tag.

The boxes were then stacked back to back and placed inside a tall cello bag.

It was fun to make new friends and get reacquainted with those we hadn't seen in a while.  I really enjoy these fun nights with these wonderful ladies.

Speaking of wonderful ladies, we were all blessed when Roxanne shared the watercolor technique that she used to create her Magical Mermaid card.

Roxanne used an aqua painter and dropped ink and let it blend together for the background of this card.  After the ink dried she ran the card stock through the Big Shot with the Ruffled textured Impressions folder.  I love how that folder made the colorful water look like waves.  This card is really detailed and beautiful.  Here's a closer look.

Since we swap cards at Bunco now, I was blessed to receive one of these beautiful cards from Roxanne.

In addition to all the fun we had at Inspiration Night, we also enjoyed a delicious dinner cooked by Chef Craig.  Craig makes the most wonderful dishes and his chicken dish tonight was a hit.   Craig was telling us that his chicken only required three ingredients.  Since so many asked for the recipe, I thought I'd post it here for all to enjoy!

Well, I hope you enjoyed a peek into our September Inspiration Night.  These gatherings always make me happy because I love these ladies so much.  They are such good people, so positive to be around and they make me laugh.  Especially this "sweet" and "innocent" lady named Ann below!

Our next Inspiration Night is going to be a Holiday Shoebox swap where we will also make a Holiday Card Organizer.  That's coming up soon at the start of next month!

I can't believe that Christmas is almost here.  I am glad that we now carry these awesome pizza boxes because I know that they will come in handy this Holiday Season.  I look forward to finding many creative ways to use them.

I hope you will try and recreate some Pizza Box Treats of your own.  Whether you make them for party favors or even just to make one to give to a friend they are sure to be a fun way to let someone know you care.

It may seem like a small gesture but I think sometimes we forget that taking the time to do "The Little Things" can really make a difference in the lives of others!
