Home For The Holidays 2017

This past Saturday was our annual Home for the Holidays Craft Fair.  This year we celebrated our 10th anniversary and we partnered together with friends who had been having a similar event in another home near by.  It was fun to combine our groups together in one home so we could provide a "one-stop" shopping experience for everyone.

One of the things I sold this year were packaged Merry Mistle-Toe Christmas socks.

I cut a hole in our pizza boxes with the stitched shapes framelits.  I then filled them with a variety of cute socks I found while shopping in the mainland.  There were socks with snowmen, trees, reindeer and even a pair that had mistle toe on them!  I used our Labeler Alphabet to create a personalized label for the box.   The word "Merry" came from the cute set called Merry Cafe.

This was just one of several of the items I had for sale that day.  I'll share more of the things I made that day in my next post.  For today, I want to share the cute and simple make and take I created for this event.

Candy Tree Make and Take - www.stampedwithaloha.com

Candy Tree Make and Take - www.stampedwithaloha.com

This make and take was made by stamping a 1 1/2 inch circle I had punched out of Whisper White Card Stock with a tree from the Watercolor Christmas stamp set.  Then the tree was colored with our new stamping Blends!  After that a toothpick was taped to the back and two dimensionals were added so that the Old Olive 1 3/4 circle could be attached.  Then a glimmer paper star that had been cut from the Tiny Treat Bag Thinlits was added to the top of the tree.  The greeting "Merry Wishes" from our Oh, What Fun stamp set was then attached with a glue dot.  Once it was completed it was then inserted into a yummy Dove Chocolate candy.  This little favor would make a great place card for a holiday party, a cute cupcake topper or a fun little treat to pass out to  co-workers or friends.

Speaking of friends, it is always such a treat to spend this day with them.  My friend Linda is always at the booth next to me.  You can find her delicious Island seasoning salts at Costco and other retail locations on the island.  However, its way more fun to purchase it from her in person cause she's so kind and sweet!

This year I purchased her special salad dressing and after the fair I came home and made a chinese chicken salad for dinner just so I could use her delicious dressing right away.

On the other side of me is always my friend Annie of the Pampered Chef.  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Pampered Chef products!!!  I will be using some of the new products I purchased from Annie in my holiday baking this year.  Annie wins the award for the most festive and adorable outfit of the day!

My friend Cindy from Zoe, Hawaii made some amazing treats too!  Everything she makes not only looks great but tastes so delicious!

Her candy sushi was so cute and her mini gingerbread houses always fun.  These are a favorite of my Mom's so I have a tradition of buying her a new one each year.

Zeny, Fran, Genie and Sharon had some really cute things for sale too.  I had hoped to buy one of Zeny's cute Coffee favors but they sold out before I could get one!

Terry was also there from 31 Bags.  I loved a lot of the new product she had on display for us to see.

It makes us happy when people come for the first time, such as the two "Penny's" pictured below who both said they had a great time and were so glad they attended.

Snowman Surprise

Living in Hawaii you'd think that I don't get to see a lot of snowmen during the winter but that is not true.  It just so happens that every winter a beautiful bunch of my flaky friends appear in my kitchen and dining room.

I have lots of different types of snowmen friends.  Want to meet a few of them?

There are little clusters of snowmen friends everywhere.

When decorating day arrives I am so excited to open up the boxes and get reacquainted with all my flaky snowmen friends.

This year a wonderful snowman surprise showed up for me and the timing couldn't have been more perfect.  It was decorating day and just before we started to work I opened the mail where I received a surprise package from my sweet and thoughtful friend Kim Williams.  Inside the envelope was this cute card and some new snowmen friends.

Isn't this card absolutely adorable.  The cable knit embossing folder is perfect for this card and the use of dazzling diamonds glimmer paper on the snowman makes him look like he was built out of the most sparkly snow ever.

In addition to sending this adorable card, Kim sent me three new snowmen friends.

One is made from the lid of a tin can, one from a wooden embroidery hoop and one is hand painted on a piece of wood.  They are all so unique and beautiful and I was really touched by her sweet and thoughtful surprise.

I was so inspired by Kim's gift that so far this holiday season I've been making TONS of snowman things.  Today I will share a couple of them with you.

First for my Home for the Holiday boutique, I created these toilet paper snowmen.

Toilet Paper Snowman - www.stampedwithaloha.com

Toilet Paper Snowman - www.stampedwithaloha.com

This is simply a small roll of toilet paper that I gently inserted into one of our Stampin' Up! 6 x 8 cello bags and I tucked the bag right into the bottom of the roll so no adhesive was needed.  In order to make it fit you have to find a smaller roll of toilet paper and one that you can squeeze to make sure it will fit.  I kind of felt like the person in the Charmin commercial squeezing all the rolls of toilet paper at the store to find just the right one.

Then I punched one of the petals from the Festive Flower builder punch and drew some lines on it with a pumpkin pie marker and used a glue dot to add it to the center as a carrot nose.  I added goggly eyes and punched black circles for the mouth.

The ear muffs were made with a strip of silver foil paper and red pom poms.  In order to make sure this would stick I used a hot glue gun to attach it.

This snowman is a fun gift for that certain someone and it comes with a funny poem on the back.

This was a popular item at my Holiday boutique.  People would pick it up and laugh and in no time at all I had sold all 40 of these that I made for this event.   I was glad others enjoyed this funny snowman gift as much as I did and I am glad to know its not only cute but practical too.

The next snowman I want to share with you has a similar look to this one.  I made this for my downline Christmas party which was yesterday.

Clear Treat Box Snowman - www.stampedwithaloha.com

Clear Treat Box Snowman - www.stampedwithaloha.com

This snowman was made out of our Stampin' Up! clear boxes.  I filled it with cotton balls and added punched embellishments to the front.  If I were making this as a treat, I would have filled it with white candy but since its an ornament I wanted to fill it with something that wouldn't spoil over time.

The earmuffs had to be glued on with a hot glue gun.   I used a curved glimmer paper and I wanted to make sure everything would stick since the ear muff would also act as a hanging device on the Christmas Tree.

I filled an entire tree with these cute boxes and let everyone take one home when they left the party.  It was fun to see a whole tree full of these smiling faces that highlighted one of my favorite SU products, clear tiny treat boxes.

I hope you enjoyed reading about my love of snowmen and the fun snowman surprise I received.

Speaking of surprises I can't wait to share with you all about my downline Christmas party where you will be surprised to see more adorable snowmen featured.  Here's a sneak peek below.

But you'll have to wait till my next post to hear all about it.

Until then, I hope you are enjoying this special season and if you live somewhere where there is lots of snow I hope you will enjoy building a snowman and know that I would love to be there with you creating some special flaky friends this season.

Home For The Holidays

Tomorrow is our Home For The Holiday Craft Fair.  This is one of my favorite days of the year.  This is the 9th year I will be a part of this very special event located at a home in Waikele.  You can stop by our boutique anytime between 9am and 3pm.  Enjoy delicious holiday treats, create a free make and take, win door prizes and enjoy holiday shopping in the intimate atmosphere of a holiday decorated home.

Again this year we are partnering with another home fair in Waipio.  That one begins at 8am and ends at 2pm.  Below is the flyer for both.  I hope you will consider stopping by both of these special events.

I look forward to seeing you there and sharing with you all the fun new projects I've created for this years Home For the Holidays Boutique.
