This Little Piggy Projects

One of my favorite stamp sets in our new catalog is This Little Piggy.  So I decided to feature it at my last Inspiration Night gathering.

We created 4 piggy note cards with envelopes and a pig pen crate to be used as a holder.  When everything was packaged together, it looked like this.

Let's take a look at the four unique cards that are a part of this set.

This Little Happy Piggy - www.stampedwithaloha.com

This Little Happy Piggy - www.stampedwithaloha.com

This first piggy card is very sweet and simple.  The pig was stamped onto a Blushing Bride card stock and then cut out so that only a tiny bit of coloring was needed on the flower and grass.

Lorene at Inspiration Night

Lorene at Inspiration Night

This card is sure to bring a smile not only to the recipient but also to the person who is creating it, just like it did while Lorene was making it.

Do you like the other card Lorene is holding?  This was our little Hula Pig Card.   Another one of the products I featured at this event was our wood textures Designer Series Paper.  This 6 x 6 pad is filled with all different types of wood patterns that coordinate great with the Piggy set and also looks fabulous on masculine cards.

This Little Hula Piggy Card - www.stampedwithaloha.com

This Little Hula Piggy Card - www.stampedwithaloha.com

This adorable little piggy was transformed into a Hula Pig by adding a coconut bra made with our Cookie Cutter Builder punch and the skirt was made with one of the flowers from the Blossom Builder punch that was just trimmed down a little.

Normally the sentiment on the inside of this card would say, "This Little Piggy, say's Thanks".  But thanks to our Labeler Alphabet stamp set I covered up the word "thanks" with the word "Mahalo" which is truly what any Hawaiian piggy would say when he is all dressed up and headed to a luau.

This next cute Piggy card featured fussy cut wings to add dimension.

This Little Flying Piggy - www.stampedwithaloha.com

I colored this one in with stampin write markers and of course added a tiny jeweled flower from the Tree Builder Punch, one of my favorites.   The message on this card says, "She believed she could, so she DID"!

It made me happy to see everyone having such a great time making these cards, especially cards like this one that can be used to encourage others!

For our final card I did something a little different.  I cropped the bottom of the note card and added a strip of tear tape to seal the side and bottom. Then I took a separate piece of card stock and added a pull tab to the top so it would be easy to insert inside the pocket I had made.

Here is the finished pocket with the card tucked inside.

Then all you need to do is pull the tab and the inside sentiment is revealed.

This Little Piggy Gift Pull Card - www.stampedwithaloha.com

This card would be perfect as a gift card holder.  My favorite part of this piggy is how muddy he is.  That look was created with an ink pad and a blender pen.  He looks so happy and content like any piggy would after spending a sunny afternoon taking a mud bath.

All of these cards were packaged together and placed inside of a crate.  The crate was made with our Wooden Crate Framelits.  However, when you make the wood crate it is too small to fit the note cards but my downline Zeny found a way to expand it.   Here are her instructions.

Wood Crate Box – Extended   (by Zeny Lucey)

This extended crate box will fit 4 note cards & envelopes.

- Card stock – 3-1/2 x 6”

Score on the 6” side at 3-5/8 and 4”.  Fold these score lines as a mountain (3-5/8”)

and valley (4”) fold.  Place the Crate Box Thinlit with the side flap edge over the

scored section.  Run thru the Big Shot.

Note:  You’ll need to run 2 of these to make the crate.

- DSP strips – 3/8 x 3-7/8” (6x).  Adhere to crate before assembling.

I had such a fabulous time at Inspiration Night with my downline who truly inspire me with all the love and aloha they continually bless me with, especially during this season in my life.

I've already designed projects for our next gathering.  It will be happening near the end of my treatment so plans are in place for someone else to run the meeting should I not feel up to attending.  However, I'm going to have to be pretty tired to keep me away from these lovely ladies who are such a blessing to me!

Well, I hope you enjoyed learning about these cute Piggy Projects!  I love this set and look forward to using it often.

Mom's Birthday

Today we celebrated my Mom's 85th birthday.  Jessica and I took she and my Dad to one of our favorite places, the Ama Ama Restaurant at the Disney Aulani hotel.  It is nice to have such a beautiful property only a few minutes from our home.

Disney's Aulani Hotel in Ko'olina

It was an absolutely beautiful day.  Most of our family was working but I was glad Jessica was able to escape for an hour to join us at this special early morning celebration.

I really admire my Mom's strength.

Life radically changed for her a couple years ago when my Dad began to show signs of dementia.

My mom takes excellent care of my Dad.  She has had to make a lot of unexpected adjustments to her life but she persevered with grace, demonstrating her faith and trust in the Lord.

My Mom's favorite color is blue.  We didn't plan it but we all just so happened to be dressed in blue today.

So naturally when creating her birthday card and gift I had her favorite color in mind.  Would you like to see what I created for her?

Jar of Love Birthday Card - www.stampedwithaloha.com

I created her card using the Jar of Love stamp set.  I used a color scheme of Marina Mist and Wisteria Wonder.  I embellished every small flower stamp with a tiny rhinestone jewel and added some gold enamel shapes too!  The water in the jar was created with an aqua painter that had been dipped into the lid of my Marina Mist Ink Pad.

To go along with the gift I took one of our small stamp cases and covered it with card stock and a coordinating design.  I used this as the gift box to wrap my gift.

Inside the box was three mini gift card holders that I created out of a 5 x 5 piece of card stock that was scored and punched with the envelope punch board.  Each of these little decorated envelopes had a gift card for something special that my Mom needed or could use.

I am so thankful for the opportunity we had to celebrate my Mom today and I am glad our time together made both she and my Dad feel happy and blessed.

Birthday Bash Stamp Camp

On Saturday, it was a cold, blustery day here on Oahu which means it was the PERFECT day to stay indoors and stamp!   As we arrived in Manoa Valley it was raining and the wind was howling which made setting up an adventure.  As you can see from the photo below, we just bundled up and didn't let the bad weather dampen our excitement for a day of stamping!

My wonderful husband Derek, who is always such a great support to me, helped carry everything in.   As you can see he did it with a smile which reminds me of how blessed I am to have him in my life.

Just before our guests arrived, we blew up 60 helium balloons.

All of us felt really anxious and excited for the event to begin!

The boxes were then placed on the table in front of each persons chair and with fifteen minutes till the doors opened, the room was ready.

Doesn't the room look beautiful with all the colorful balloons?

I bet you are wondering what is in those boxes that the balloons are attached to?? Inquiring minds would like to know.... but you will just have to wait and see.

The team then gathered to say a blessing before the doors opened.

Honestly with the weather being so unusual and hearing reports that the freeway in one area was shut down, I expected many people to be late.  However, when we opened the doors 60 happy stamp campers were lined up in the lobby waiting to check in, all standing in their places with bright shiny faces!

Everyone seemed so happy right from the start and they were anxious to see what projects we had planned and what was in the special box on the table.

Would you like to see the projects we made?

Project one was this cute ice cream card that featured the specialty piece of Tasty Treats Designer Series Paper and was embellished with a red wooden heart from our Sending Love Wooden Embellishments.  The hearts come in a natural color so I glued this one to the card with a glue dot and then colored it with a red sharpie pen.  Everyone who attended camp got a full pack of these adorable hearts in their kit so you will see them on several of the projects I designed for this camp.

The next card featured the Balloon Adventures stamp set and the Balloon Bouquet punch.  This would be a great masculine card.  I love the combination of Pool Party and Early Espresso with just a touch of silver foil.

The star and other metal pieces come from the Urban Underground Embellishments which are perfect for masculine cards.   The Urban Underground Embellishments were also one of the products that came in the Stamp Camp kit so you will see them on several of the projects too!

Below you can see Barbara and Cathy showing their finished cards.  Cathy assembled her card a little differently from the sample.  I love to see people's creativity at work.  I also love to see friends enjoying their time together at Stamp Camp!  Looks like these two are having fun and that makes me very happy!

Project three may look familiar because it is similar to a card I posted on my blog in December of last year.

The roof piece comes from the Window Box Framelits.  You see several pieces of Tasty Treats Designer Paper, which is featured on all the projects and each guest also received a mini sampler pack of it in their kit.

Do you see how this card used both the Sending Love wooden embellishments and the Urban Underground Embellishments?

Project number five was a fun shaker card that used our new Sprinkle embellishments.  They are so colorful and fun!  I'm in LOVE with these Sprinkles!  They look good enough to eat!  But don't eat them, you will get a stomach ache if you do!

It's Your Birthday Shaker Card - www.stampedwithaloha.com

This was probably my favorite card of the bunch because it is so cute and colorful and who doesn't love ice cream and sprinkles together?  The Sprinkles embellishments was another goodie that everyone received in their kit as well as a full pack of Tasty Treats Washi tape which was used to embellish the inside of the card as you can see below.

When you open the card there is a fun message inside with a birthday wish for the recipient to "Party On" which is what all birthday boys and girls should do on their special day!

Project number six was also note card just like the shaker card above. Just like the roof piece on the house card, the candles come from the Window Box thinlits.    The candles are definitely my favorite  thinlit in that set.  Aren't they cute?

By slipping colorful card stock behind them, you can change them to any color you like!

I embellished two of the letters in the greeting with our sweet and colorful sprinkles embellishments.

The final card, number seven if you're counting,  is actually a gift card holder.  The fun "Open Me Already" sentiment is the focal point of the front of this card.

As you open the card the next message is revealed which says, "Happiest Birthday!"

Then when you open it all the way you will see a pocket at the end that is decorated with a cute piece of washi tape from the Tasty Treats Washi Tape collection.  This is where you would place your gift card.  Hmmm, one from Baskin Robins sounds good about right now?

Did you like all of the cards?  Which one was your favorite?

Guess what?? We still have one more project!

Our final project was this adorable Ice Cream Box Holder to store all of the cards we made that day.

Ice Cream Card Box - www.stampedwithaloha.com

Ice Cream Card Box - www.stampedwithaloha.com

This box is so sweet, just like an ice cream cone with a cherry on top!

We used two scoops on the cone and attached one to the base of the box and one to the lid and by strategically placing the dimensionals we were able to make the box close without having to use any magnets or other adhesives.  It not only helped us lock the box but reminded us that when it comes to ice cream cones, two scoops are definitely better than one!

This box was just the right size to store all of the hand stamped creations we made that day.

Well speaking of boxes, are you still wondering what is inside?

Pam put all kinds of special touches inside the lunch box, embellished with Stampin' Up! products and assembled with much aloha.  This box truly was filled with Tasty Treats for real!!!

Another Cool Treat was the punch Pam served.

October Stamp A Stack

Last week I hosted my monthly Stamp A Stack class.  Class was really full both on Saturday and Sunday and I really enjoyed sharing these cards with the wonderful ladies who attended the class.

Here are the cards we created.

October Stamp A Stack - www.stampedwithaloha.com

October Stamp A Stack - www.stampedwithaloha.com

The first card is one you've seen before.  Its a fall looking card created with the Vintage Leaves stamp set that I shared in a recent post about my Dad's birthday.

Vintage Leaves Card - www.stampedwithaloha.com

Vintage Leaves Card - www.stampedwithaloha.com

Everyone loved the Fall colors which were inspired by this cute new Starbucks Fall card.

Vintage Leaves Card - www.stampedwithaloha.com

Vintage Leaves Card - www.stampedwithaloha.com

This pattern could easily be repeated for the upcoming Holiday season by simply changing the stamp set.

At our recent Stamp Camp someone created this adorable gift card holder for our swap.  I was thrilled to receive such a cute project.   I wish I knew who to thank for giving this to me!   If anyone knows whose swap this was please let me know so I can give them credit.

Cookie Cutter Christmas Gift Card Holder - www.stampedwithaloha.com

I was so inspired by this swap that I made my own version as a part of this month class but I used  the stamp set Wrapped In Warmth to give it a different look.

Warmth and Cheer Gift Card Holder - www.stampedwithaloha.com

Warmth and Cheer Gift Card Holder - www.stampedwithaloha.com

This holder is made with one of our white Glassine bags that is folded in half and has a belly band wrapped around it.  You can add a gift card to either the front pocket or directly on card that is inserted in the pocket.

Project three was created to match my Stamped With Aloha logo and the new t-shirts I just created.  My logo combines Bermuda Bay and Wild Wasabi.  If you haven't seen my new shirt yet it says, "Be A Pineapple" on the front in Bermuda Bay and here is what the back looks like.

Stamped With Aloha T-Shirts - www.stampedwithaloha.com

Stamped With Aloha T-Shirts - www.stampedwithaloha.com

The shirts have been extremely popular so I will be printing some more soon and will have a place where you can purchase them right on this site.  Thanks so much to all of you who contacted me to tell me that you read my blog and were interested in a shirt before I even offered them.  I was really happy to talk with so many of you to try and accommodate your t-shirt requests.

So here is the card inspired by my logo.

Pineapple Card - www.stampedwithaloha.com

Pineapple Card - www.stampedwithaloha.com

First, I want to tell you that I cut my pineapple stamp in two pieces.  It makes it much easier to use when stamping a multi colored pineapple.  Next, I want to tell you that I discovered that the sentiments from the stamp set Designer Tin of Cards, matches the base of the pineapple perfectly.  So now you know of a great set to combine with your pineapple stamp to create a variety of cards.

My final card was my favorite.  It uses the Layering Circles Framelits.  I used the framelits to create a pumpkin pie out of Crumb Cake and Pumpkin Pie Card Stock.  After I glued the Pie together and shooked the edges with Chocolate Chip ink I then took a slice out of the pie with my paper snips.

Pumpkin Pie Card - www.stampedwithaloha.com

Pumpkin Pie Card - www.stampedwithaloha.com

The set I used is called Party with Cake which is a retired set but one that was really popular last year.  Normally the sentiment on this card would say, Its Time To Celebrate With Cake.  To omit the word "cake" I took a clean stamp, placed a piece of scotch tape over the word cake.  I inked up the stamp and removed the tape before stamping it which omits the word "cake".  The Party with Cake stamp set comes with a very cute sentiment for the inside of the card which works perfectly for Thanksgiving.

Lori who appreciates "cute things" said that this card was her favorite.

I have a few more photos to share from the ladies who attended this class as well as a funny story to tell you so watch for it in my next post   It was a really special weekend, one of those times where I sit back and think of how blessed I am to be surrounded by such amazing downline, customers and friends!
