Christmas Bunco

Last week my home was filled with lots of love and laughter as I hosted my monthly bunco games.  This month was extra special cause our theme was Christmas.  I love this time of year and I really enjoy having people over for fellowship and fun.

People have enjoyed "dressing up" for Bunco so we discussed having a "Night Before Christmas Theme" but thinking that not everyone would be comfortable showing up in their pajamas, I told them to just come dressed festive.

On Sunday, I dressed up in a Holiday Sweater but when Olivia and Patti showed up in their matching Pajamas looking so cute, I had to run upstairs and change because they looked entirely too comfortable.

Just after everyone arrived imagine my surprise when I heard a "Clatter" at my door and suddenly Mrs. Claus was there smiling and ringing her jingle bells.  Mrs. Claus was telling everyone "Merry Christmas" as she strolled through the room spreading Christmas Cheer.

Rosita looked so cute dressed as Mrs. Claus, she shared that she and her late husband used to dress up as Santa and Mrs. Claus for many Christmas Parties and even made an appearance in a Christmas parade.  I was so honored that she took the time to continue this tradition at my home and continue to share the magic of Christmas.

The product I featured at this month's bunco was the Presents and Pinecones DSP and matching Washi Tape.  For the favor I created a box of chocolate peppermint candies.  I put the mints in our clear tiny treat boxes which are my favorite this holiday season.  If you use a 2 inch punch you can fit exactly five peppermint candies in this box.

To tie in the Washi Tape I covered a piece of scrap paper with rows of washi and then punched it out with a circle punch to create a colorful backdrop for the top of the favor.

The mints were made by attaching punched circles that featured different patterns of the cute DSP.

At a recent  Holiday Craft Fair I created this little santa box (below) where I created a wrap for a small peppermint bark bag of candy.  I decided to copy my own idea for the Aloha prize but on a larger scale.  Everyone loves peppermint bark and the larger package gave me more space to feature the cute DSP.

I added some Jingle Bells to the bow so that as everyone passed it around during the game it would add some christmas cheer to the room.

Both the Sunday and Monday games were filled with love, laughter and the spirit of giving.  Rosita and Sarina made planners for everyone and gave everyone a cute favor made entirely out of candy.

Bea hand made these cute washcloths and everyone got to choose the one they liked.  I was so touched by the kind hearts of these lovely friends.

It is so special to me to see how so many new friendships have been formed as we gather at my home.

Below is a photo of our Sunday group.  Normally this group is a little more reserved than the Monday group but things were a little louder than usual this time around.  It always make me laugh and smile when I hear others having fun.

The winner of the Aloha prize on Sunday was Shelly who took home not only the Aloha Prize but other fun product goodies as well.

I love to see the happy faces of the Aloha prize winners!

On Monday night, we were doubly blessed because Mrs. Claus came again but this time she had a big surprise!  She brought Santa with her.

Words can not express my gratitude towards Santa and Mrs. Claus (Sarina and Rosita) and the joy they have brought into my life over the past few months that they have been stamping with me.  They have such giving hearts and everyone has been so blessed to come to know them and enjoy having them with us each month.

Here is our Monday group just before we hugged and wished each other a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Our next Bunco is scheduled for Sunday, January 8th and Monday, January 9th.  The Sunday game is already full but I have a few spots open for Monday night at 7pm.  This will be a Saleabration Bunco and will feature new products from our new Occasions catalog that will be released at the start of the new year.

As we celebrate the end of this year, I want to say a special MAHALO to all of the wonderful people who have come over to play Bunco.  There have been wives, sisters, grandmas, daughters, sons, brothers, grandpas, boyfriends, girlfriends, aunties, uncles, and best friends, all who have come together to play a fun game and enjoy a great time of fellowship and fun.

I look forward to sharing a new Season of Bunco with all of you in 2017.

Stamp Camp Projects

When I design projects for classes or events, I always like their to be a theme or featured product that is displayed on what I create.  Our Stamping In Paradise Stamp Camp Projects all had these things in common.  They carried the same color scheme (Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green, and Real Red).  They all displayed a piece of This Christmas Designer Series Paper.  Most of them had touches of gold by using Gold Foil Sheets or Gold Sequins and some had white ribbon accents.

The first project was this card created with the adorable Merry Tags Framelit Dies and a brand new embossing folder called Pine Bough that displays a beautiful pine branch pattern.  The greeting on this card came from the set Wonderful Year which I also used on the next project as well.

Project two was a index card booklet.  This cute booklet is bound together with a one inch book ring.  This book is really cute and very useful for the upcoming Holiday Season which I like to refer to as "The Most Wonderful Time of the Year" which is why I chose this sentiment for the front of the book.

This book is the perfect size to throw in your purse and use for your daily "to do" list or use it as a Holiday planner.  You could also use it as a journal to record special memories during the holidays.

The next project was a box.  The box is adorned with beautiful pine branches with gold and silver accents.  These items come from our Present and Pinecones collection.  My favorite part of this project is the pine boughs that were created with the Pretty Pines Thinlit Dies.  They are so beautiful and almost look real.  The sentiment on this box comes from the Candy Cane Christmas stamp set.

The inside of the box contained wrapped hershey nuggets.

This quick and simple box makes for the perfect packaging for a small gift or a handful of holiday candy.

The next card is probably my favorite.  I found a way to use the Pineapple stamp in a more practical way.  I removed the crown from the base of the pineapple of my stamp so it would make it divided the stamp in two, in order to make it easier to stamp the pineapple in multiple colors.

Since another one of the stamp sets I would be highlighting at this event was Here's To Cheers, I found the perfect sentiment from that set to match this card.

The final project and probably the one that got the most compliments was our Here's to Cheers Sparkling Cider project.

Here's To Cheers Sparkling Cider Bottle - www.stampedwithaloha.com

Here's To Cheers Sparkling Cider Bottle - www.stampedwithaloha.com

This bottle was wrapped with red glimmer paper and a gold foil reindeer stands out on the front with his rhinestone nose that has been colored with a red sharpie pen.  The tag on the top of the bottle comes from our new Cheerful Tags Framelits that has this amazing tag that is made to slip over the top of bottles to create a hanging tag.  Love that this project is Sparkling in many ways from the cider to the glimmer paper, rhinestones and the sparkling sentiment this project definitely displays a super sparkly gift that would be fun to give away this Holiday season.  These large gusseted cello bags are also wonderful too, they are designed with this type of project in mind.

Well, I hope you enjoyed a closer look at our Stamp Camp projects.  I certainly enjoyed creating them and even more so seeing the smiling faces of everyone at camp enjoying putting them together.

I hope this post has given you some inspiration for projects you may want to recreate this Holiday season.

Cookie Cutter Clips

This past weekend was the Hawaii Women Expo.  My group Stamped With Aloha had a booth there again this year.   Our goals for this event was to promote a Cookie Cutter Christmas Class, to share about the Paper Pumpkin BOGO special offer, to demonstrate our favorite products from the Holiday Catalog and to raise money for the Hawaii Food Bank by selling hand stamped cards.

For our live demonstrations we all chose something in the catalog that we loved the most.

I chose to demonstrate my favorite Holiday Catalog Bundle which just happens to be Cookie Cutter Christmas.  I shared how simple it was to create mini clips that could be easily converted to gift tags, magnets or toppers for a gift bag or party favor.

Each of these are created with a base of 1  3/4 x 2  3/4 of colored card stock and then layered with a    1  1/2 x 2  1/2 piece of Whisper White card stock.  After adhering the Cookie Cutter image I turned each card over and applied a wooden clothepin to the middle with mini glue dots.  For these on this board I also attached a magnet strip.

My favorite of these clips of course is the hula girl.  She is so sweet and something that I will be able to use on projects far beyond the Holiday season.  It was fun to see the reaction to all the actual hula dancers who stopped by the booth at the Expo and admired this cute little punch art hula girl.

I also had a sample that featured how cute this little clip would be on the top of a cello candy bag.

In addition to showing these fun Christmas samples I also had a board to display some samples I made with the Cookie Cutter Halloween set which is equally adorable.

The event was a success due to the fact that I have such a fabulous group of stampin' sisters who worked so hard to put everything together.

In this photo below Eve is pointing to our display that features the Paper Pumpkin BOGO offer.  Did you know that  if you are a first time subscriber and you go to www.mypaperpumpkin.com to join before October 10, you can subscribe and get your second month FREE?   Just be sure to indicate me as your demonstrator when you join.

Paper Pumpkin is an awesome subscription that comes in the mail monthly complete with projects that are all planned out for you to assemble, all you need is adhesive.  A subscription makes a great gift for a friend or even for yourself.  This is also great as an activity for kids who love to craft or for people who like to craft but have limited time and are looking for an organized creative escape!  These kits also work great for friends, relatives to have an excuse to get together and create!  They make for a great Mom and Me activitity too.

We sure had a great time at the expo.  Over the three days we sold over 70 cards, shared our passion for creativity, inspired people with our live demonstrations and made many new friends.
