A "Be Dazzled" Blessing!

Earlier this month I had the opportunity to stamp with a group of ladies at Data House in Honolulu.  The purpose of our gathering was to provide for a team building activity in an intimate atmosphere so I taught these three cards to two separate groups.

Two of the cards are cards you may have seen before on my blog.  However, the card in the middle was newly designed for this group.

When I am with a group that I am unfamiliar with I love to show them the Botanical Blooms stamp set.   This set it is very popular here in Hawaii where we are blessed to see tropical foilage like this on a daily basis.  It also has matching framelits that are absolutely beautiful and it is fun to show everyone how they can create beautiful 3D flowers to embellish their creations.

Let's take a closer look at this tropical Thank You card.

This set is so pretty and it gets a "WOW" response anytime anybody sees is being used, especially when the second layer of ink is added and it makes the flower or leaf look so realistic.  I used three different color of ink pads on this card, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive and Watermelon Wonder.  I showed them how with the Watermelon ink you stamp the first generation of ink on a scrap paper and then on your card to create a lighter color so that when you stamped the center of the flower it would show up better.  Taking off the first generation of ink on a scrap paper is a great way to do two step stamping with only one ink pad.  After stamping all the flowers and leaves, we sponged or "shooked" the edges of the card stock with Old Olive Ink to soften it and give it a move vintage look.

It was a great experience stamping with these ladies and watching how they interacted with each other.  It seemed like everyone was having a really great time so that made me very happy.

One of the things I loved is that as a part of this stamping session they made 6 cards, 2 of each of the designs.  However, they were asked to use one of the cards to bless someone in their office with words of encouragement.   I think this was such a great idea and showed me what a great heart this company has for excellence, unity and teamwork!

The ladies, even some who have never stamped before, were extremely gifted and talented.  I loved seeing all the creative things they did outside the box with the supplies I gave them.

Speaking of the supplies I gave them.... I had brought only enough rhinestones to the first session for each of them to have two per card.  So imagine my surprise when I went to one of the stations half way through the class to discover that the rhinestones were almost GONE!

It was quite funny as those who had used extra realized there had been a limit and were apologetic but it all worked out and we all had a good laugh when we noticed extra rhinestones on some of the cards.  I knew I had better stock up for the next session for these ladies who loved to "Be Dazzle" their creations.

Just check out these cards from the next session!  These ladies liked the Rhinestones even better than the first group.  Good thing I brought plenty.

Instead of coloring their card with markers these creative ladies simply added 6 or 7 rhinestones per card and even 2 or 3 MORE Rhinestones on the envelope.    I have to admit it these cards are REALLY, REALLY pretty and SUPER sparkly!  Looks like a card that was made for royalty!  Wouldn't you love to receive a "Be Dazzled" card like one of these?

It was great to spent this creative evening with these wonderful ladies.  They also provided very colorful and fun refreshments.  Just look at these beautiful sandwiches made with this colorful Japanese bread.  These turkey sandwiches were not only pretty but delicious too.

It is always a blessing spending time with others creating and having fun together.

I especially loved being with these gifted and talented women and having an opportunity to witness the aloha spirit that they share in their office.  Stamping with them is something I hope to do again and now that I know them a little more I will be sure to bring projects that are Be Dazzled and beautiful just like these amazing women at Data House!

Stamping With Mary

Yesterday I had a visit from my friend Mary.  Mary is a professional nail technician at my favorite salon here in Kapolei called Cosmic Beauty.  Mary is preparing for a special event and needed some help coming up with some favor bags and a couple of cards.  We worked together and this is what we came up with.

Birthday Blooms Friendship Card

Birthday Blooms Friendship Card

I started by showing Mary some projects I had recently created.  I made this card a few days ago for the top ten in sales in my down line.    Mary LOVED the flowers and asked if maybe we could use this paper and even this card design.

Mary wanted the cards to be simple and elegant without a sentiment on the front.  We simplified it by simply taking off the sentiment and i think they came out great.

Petite Cafe Gift Bags

Next we worked on some Petite Cafe Gift Bags.  Mary was going to be traveling to this event so it was important that her favors could be flattened out and not take a lot of space in her luggage.  These Petite Cafe bags were perfect for this as they can easily be opened up and filled after Mary arrives at her event.  I LOVE how this bag came out and there is plenty of space for her to fill it with special treats.  The bag is topped with a mini clothespin that has a jeweled flower on it.  I told Mary if she wanted she could add a small magnet to the back of it so that after the event those who received this bag could keep the little magnet flower as a memento.

This was my first experience sharing stamping with Mary.  I found that although she hadn't stamped before she was very artistic and creative.   Must be all of her years of experience drawing beautiful flowers on peoples nails.  It was a really pleasant visit and I was happy I could help Mary prepare for her event.

If you are looking for a great place to do your nails in Kapolei, I highly recommend Cosmic Nails.  When you book your appointment ask for Mary, you won't be disappointed.

Blinged Out Bunco

When I told my customers and friends that I was cancelling December bunco it made me happy to hear them all say "BOO".  I am glad that all those who come to my Stampin' Bunco love it as much as I do.  It's not the game itself, but the fun and laughter that fills my house and makes me so happy!

This month's theme was Blinged Out Bunco.   I created these "card in a bag" favors that were adorned with lots of rhinestone filled flowers to give to this month's players.

I was able to feature some of our newest products because one of the perks of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator is you get to order new products a month in advance.

Here is a closer look at what is inside the envelope.  This sale a bration stamp set is called Botanicals For You.   I created the Treat Bag out of envelope paper and our treat bag framelet.  The colors I chose remind me of the Seattle Seahawks team colors, my favorite team!  I'm hoping for a WIN in this Sunday's first playoff game.  Go Hawks!

Kainalu and Terry

I forgot to get a photo of the aloha prize but you can see it on the table in this photo.  It was a note pad inside of a clear stamp set case with a matching pen.  The design matched the favors I made.

In this photo Terry just threw what is known as snake eyes and lost ALL her points so Kainalu had to get out of his seat to come and celebrate even though just seconds later with needing just one point for the win he did the SAME thing.  This situation created lots of noise at our table!!!

Kainalu is such a good sport as you can see from his expression!  That's what I LOVE about this game.  So much joy and laughter whether you win or lose!

If you live on Oahu, you should check out one of our Bunco events.  The next one is going to be called Bloomin' Love Bunco.  It's a Valentines Day themed event and will be held on Sunday, January 31st at 3pm or Monday, February 1st at 7pm.  It's ALMOST full, so be sure to let me know ASAP!  I would LOVE to have you join in on the fun.
