Golden Pineapple

I am SO excited because my pre-order of new Stampin' Up! supplies has arrived!  I bet you can guess which stamp I was the most excited to use?  The PINEAPPLE stamp!  I know you'll see many, many, samples of this stamp in the days to come but for today I wanted to share with you a simple Golden Embossed Pineapple card I made for Shannon West who is celebrating her birthday tomorrow.

I wanted to create a unique birthday card for her using the new Pineapple stamp.  I used the Boho Chic embossing folder to do a layer of white on white texture and then I used gold embossing powder and a versa mark pad to emboss the pineapple.

I forgot to take a picture of the inside of this card but it simply had an elegant birthday greeting that had also been embossed in gold.  This is the type of card however that can be used for ANY occasion.  Birthday, Thinking Of You, Thank You, etc.  I JUST love it because its so versatile.

Of Course, since this was a Birthday card,  I had to emboss the #Imbringingbirthdaysback stamp on the back of the envelope!

I'm excited to hear about how many hand stamped birthday blessings Shannon will receive this week.  Shannon has influenced so many to take more time to create hand stamped birthday cards.    This is something I'm working on doing as well.  I am grateful for Shannon's inspiration, she is truly a remarkable person with a beautiful heart of GOLD.

Birthday Breakfast

This past Saturday we celebrated both my Dad and Brothers October Birthdays.  We went to one of our favorite places to gather for a birthday breakfast, the Disney Aulani Resort.  It's nice to have such a beautiful property so close to home where we can gather together to celebrate special occasions.

Last week I went shopping for a gift for my brother and I found these board shorts that had a grey and black pineapple print.  It was the colors of the board shorts that inspired the pineapple birthday card I made for him.

I created the pineapples by using the extra large oval punch and the petite petals punch.  I textured the ovals with the boho chic embossing folder.  I also used a small piece of one of our newest designer series papers called Winter Wonderland to create a shiny background.

Well, I got a thumbs up from my brother and even a smile which made me very happy.   It was a great celebration and I'm glad we were able to spend it together.
