Fun and Fabulous

My monthly stamp a stack class is always so much fun.  I really enjoy having people come to my home for an afternoon of creativity, inspiration and fun.

Here are the cards we made at my March stamp a stack class.

This first card may look familiar to you if you read my blog post on March 21st.

The cute bunny focal point of this card is layered on top of one of our Stitched Shapes Framelits which is a product I featured at this class.

On the card I posted March 21st I had fussy cut the carrots.   However, after borrowing the coordinating framelits from a friend, I decided that I needed to order them and I'm so glad I did.

The next card featured the Balloon Adventures stamp set.  Although there are lots of cute stamps in this set, I absolutely love the cloud stamp.  That is why I covered the back of this Marina Mist card stock with a whole bunch of fluffy clouds.

I LOVE the sentiment on this card!  Did you know that when you send an unexpected card and note to someone who is down you are sure to lift their spirits?

It is always such a wonderful gesture to take the time to let someone know you care and I think the best way to do that is in a hand stamped card.

The next card featured the stamp set Special Reason with the coordinating framelits.

I only used a square of gold foil to add a shiny frame to this beautifully detailed cut out flower.  The words on this card were from one of our saleabration stamps called Avant Garden.

The final card of the bunch was this Beautiful You Birthday card.  This card showed the paper piecing technique.  This technique is done when you take an outline image and stamp it onto patterned paper.  You then cut it out and place it on top of the same image that has been stamped somewhere else.  This technique is perfect for the Beautiful You stamp set as shown in the sample below.  In just minutes, you can create a whole closet full of patterned dresses in various colors for this stamped fashionista.

I used the Soft Subtles Paper stack to create a variety of colorful dresses so that each of my guests were able to make this same card using three different color schemes.

I think everyone had a blast making this card, it was definitely a class favorite.  I asked the ladies, which color did they like the most?  Everyone choose a different one.  I guess they all look nice.  It made me think that when you find a dress that fits as nicely as this one does then you should buy it in every color, at least thats what I would do!  So I guess that rule applies when stamping dresses for this beautiful fashionista too!

 Do you recognize these colors?

The first one is Sweet Sugar Plum, the Second one Peek A Book Peach and the third one Flirty Flamingo?  These are all a part of our 2015-2017 In Color Collection.  I think all three of them are beautiful!

Speaking of a beautiful trio, I'm so glad these wonderful ladies were able to stamp with me this month.

At the end of class on Sunday, Pam received a text message from her twin daughters.  They were at a friends house getting ready for the prom.    Earlier that week I had met with them to help design a simple card to help number their tables.  They were so kind to send a picture from the event and show me how the cards coordinated with their table decor and theme.

They did all the work and I think the table looks beautiful.  Hopefully people noticed their hard work! I just noticed as I was uploading this picture that everyone shown here is on their phones!  I wonder if they are texting each other asking if they want to dance?

Pam's daughters looked SO beautiful.  I'm so happy they sent this picture to share with us.  These girls are as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside. They are growing up so fast!!!

We all enjoyed seeing their beautiful smiles and gorgeous dresses.

I'm not sure if it was their photo that inspired us or the fact we had been stamping dresses that day, or because I had been up since 3:30am because I was on worship team at church that morning but we were all a little giddy and decided to send a prom picture of our own back to the girls.

As you can see, we all really had a great time at this month's class.   Sharing creativity and inspiring others to create cards to spread aloha is one of my favorite things to do and its extra special when I get to do it with such fun and fabulous stamping sisters and friends.

Birthday Bash Stamp Camp

On Saturday, it was a cold, blustery day here on Oahu which means it was the PERFECT day to stay indoors and stamp!   As we arrived in Manoa Valley it was raining and the wind was howling which made setting up an adventure.  As you can see from the photo below, we just bundled up and didn't let the bad weather dampen our excitement for a day of stamping!

My wonderful husband Derek, who is always such a great support to me, helped carry everything in.   As you can see he did it with a smile which reminds me of how blessed I am to have him in my life.

Just before our guests arrived, we blew up 60 helium balloons.

All of us felt really anxious and excited for the event to begin!

The boxes were then placed on the table in front of each persons chair and with fifteen minutes till the doors opened, the room was ready.

Doesn't the room look beautiful with all the colorful balloons?

I bet you are wondering what is in those boxes that the balloons are attached to?? Inquiring minds would like to know.... but you will just have to wait and see.

The team then gathered to say a blessing before the doors opened.

Honestly with the weather being so unusual and hearing reports that the freeway in one area was shut down, I expected many people to be late.  However, when we opened the doors 60 happy stamp campers were lined up in the lobby waiting to check in, all standing in their places with bright shiny faces!

Everyone seemed so happy right from the start and they were anxious to see what projects we had planned and what was in the special box on the table.

Would you like to see the projects we made?

Project one was this cute ice cream card that featured the specialty piece of Tasty Treats Designer Series Paper and was embellished with a red wooden heart from our Sending Love Wooden Embellishments.  The hearts come in a natural color so I glued this one to the card with a glue dot and then colored it with a red sharpie pen.  Everyone who attended camp got a full pack of these adorable hearts in their kit so you will see them on several of the projects I designed for this camp.

The next card featured the Balloon Adventures stamp set and the Balloon Bouquet punch.  This would be a great masculine card.  I love the combination of Pool Party and Early Espresso with just a touch of silver foil.

The star and other metal pieces come from the Urban Underground Embellishments which are perfect for masculine cards.   The Urban Underground Embellishments were also one of the products that came in the Stamp Camp kit so you will see them on several of the projects too!

Below you can see Barbara and Cathy showing their finished cards.  Cathy assembled her card a little differently from the sample.  I love to see people's creativity at work.  I also love to see friends enjoying their time together at Stamp Camp!  Looks like these two are having fun and that makes me very happy!

Project three may look familiar because it is similar to a card I posted on my blog in December of last year.

The roof piece comes from the Window Box Framelits.  You see several pieces of Tasty Treats Designer Paper, which is featured on all the projects and each guest also received a mini sampler pack of it in their kit.

Do you see how this card used both the Sending Love wooden embellishments and the Urban Underground Embellishments?

Project number five was a fun shaker card that used our new Sprinkle embellishments.  They are so colorful and fun!  I'm in LOVE with these Sprinkles!  They look good enough to eat!  But don't eat them, you will get a stomach ache if you do!

It's Your Birthday Shaker Card - www.stampedwithaloha.com

This was probably my favorite card of the bunch because it is so cute and colorful and who doesn't love ice cream and sprinkles together?  The Sprinkles embellishments was another goodie that everyone received in their kit as well as a full pack of Tasty Treats Washi tape which was used to embellish the inside of the card as you can see below.

When you open the card there is a fun message inside with a birthday wish for the recipient to "Party On" which is what all birthday boys and girls should do on their special day!

Project number six was also note card just like the shaker card above. Just like the roof piece on the house card, the candles come from the Window Box thinlits.    The candles are definitely my favorite  thinlit in that set.  Aren't they cute?

By slipping colorful card stock behind them, you can change them to any color you like!

I embellished two of the letters in the greeting with our sweet and colorful sprinkles embellishments.

The final card, number seven if you're counting,  is actually a gift card holder.  The fun "Open Me Already" sentiment is the focal point of the front of this card.

As you open the card the next message is revealed which says, "Happiest Birthday!"

Then when you open it all the way you will see a pocket at the end that is decorated with a cute piece of washi tape from the Tasty Treats Washi Tape collection.  This is where you would place your gift card.  Hmmm, one from Baskin Robins sounds good about right now?

Did you like all of the cards?  Which one was your favorite?

Guess what?? We still have one more project!

Our final project was this adorable Ice Cream Box Holder to store all of the cards we made that day.

Ice Cream Card Box - www.stampedwithaloha.com

This box is so sweet, just like an ice cream cone with a cherry on top!

We used two scoops on the cone and attached one to the base of the box and one to the lid and by strategically placing the dimensionals we were able to make the box close without having to use any magnets or other adhesives.  It not only helped us lock the box but reminded us that when it comes to ice cream cones, two scoops are definitely better than one!

This box was just the right size to store all of the hand stamped creations we made that day.

Well speaking of boxes, are you still wondering what is inside?

These boxes were made by Pam.  Inside of them contained everyone's lunch.  Pam and her family worked really hard to bless everyone with this beautiful presentation that not only tasted amazing but looked beautiful too and perfectly coordinated with our Tasty Treats/Balloon Adventures Birthday Bash theme.

Pam put all kinds of special touches inside the lunch box, embellished with Stampin' Up! products and assembled with much aloha.  This box truly was filled with Tasty Treats for real!!!

Another Cool Treat was the punch Pam served.

Balloon Adventures Bunco

Last week the noise level went up in my home as people gathered to attend a Birthday Themed Bunco.

I was so excited to share our newest products with everyone and since there are so many wonderful new birthday goodies I decided that I would share some of my new favorites.

The items I chose to focus on was Balloon Adventures stamp set and the Balloon Pop Up Thinlits dies which are one of the first products you come to on page 5 of our new Occasions catalog..

Birthday Favor Box and Birthday Box Gift Card Holder - www.stampedwithaloha.com

Birthday Favor Box and Birthday Box Gift Card Holder - www.stampedwithaloha.com

I created two projects that had belly bands, a box and a gift card holder.

Don't tell my Green Bay Packer loving stamping friends but I chose these colors Pacific Point and Emerald Envy in honor of my favorite football team, the Seattle Seahawks!!!  But that can be our little secret!

Actually since it was a birthday theme, I thought I better make a variety of bright colors, so I used this combination of Daffodil Delight and Tangerine Tango too.

The DSP (designer series paper) used on both of these projects is called Party Animal.

Birthday Box Gift Card Holders - www.stampedwithaloha.com

Would you like to know how to make this cute holder?

Take a piece of card stock that is cut at 3 x 11.  Score it at 1/2 inch, 4 inches and 7 1/2 inches.  Fold up the 1/2 inch part and secure with two glue dots on the edges to leave room to hold a gift card.  Then fold it up and wrap a belly band around it with sentiment of  your choice.  You can make the belly band as wide as you need it to be, mine was one inch.

Here is a look at the inside of the project after you take the belly band off.

I love this stamp that says, "open me already", what a fun and sassy message for to the anxious recipient who wants to know what is inside!

This photo show the 1/2 inch flap and the Happy Birthday sentiment.  It also shows how I used this awesome new bow thinlit from the Balloon Pop Up collection to create a bow that pops up when you fold it.  All you have to do is use the Thinlet right below the score line and then you fold it up, it will pop up!  I LOVE this new thinlit and know I will use it often.

Teresa won the Aloha prize which was three gift card holders that I tacked down to a piece of card stock and wrapped in cellophane.  Teresa was so excited she won, she got up and started dancing which is why the photo of the prize and of Teresa, the Dancing Queen, is totally blurry!!!

Yes, it's true!  Spontaneous dancing sometimes happens at Bunco!

So here is a little better look at the Aloha prize.

Custom Tee for Kathy

When I first opened up my new Custom Tee stamp set I was reminded of the T shirt business I once had with my sister in law Kathy.  Our business was called Confetti.  Kathy and I made hand painted and embellished t-shirts that originally we had made for fun but when others saw them and wanted them, we decided to start a business.  We did craft fairs, after school events with teachers, home and office shows.   Within a year we expanded from just creating T-shirts to making baby clothes, two piece short and pant sets, sweatshirts and even denim shirts!

The shirts were heavily embellished and to say heavily, i'm putting it lightly.  Let's just say it was the 90's and it was popular here in Hawaii.  The shirts were hand painted with flowers and embellished with jewel rhinestones and grosgrain ribbon.

It was a really fun business and Kathy and I always enjoyed working together.  One of our favorite events was a nighttime craft fair and the Honolulu Country Club called Ladies Night Out.

This week Kathy celebrated her birthday.  Below is a photo from 2012 which was the last time I saw her when I went on a trip to Michigan where she lives.

My Sister Kathy - www.stampedwithaloha.com

So I'm sure you can understand that when it came time to making her a birthday card, the Custom Tee stamp set and T-Shirt Builder Framelits seemed like the perfect choice.

Custom Tee Birthday Card - www.stampedwithaloha.com

Here is the card I made for Kathy.  It is OVERLY embellished with rhinestones, just like our shirts were.  It also uses a piece of our new Inside The Lines Designer Series Paper that you can get for free right now because its our annual saleabration where you can get free product with a $50 order.

The inside of the card was just as embellished as the outside.

I used a sentiment from the Balloon Adventures stamp set and surrounded it with jeweled flowers from the Custom Tee stamp set.

I hope this card will bring a smile to Kathy's beautiful face as she remembers the good ole days when drying T-shirt boards used to line our living room floors.  It was a wonderful season spent with my very sweet sister in law who I miss dearly because she is really special and a lot of fun to be around.

Happy Birthday Kathy!
