Prize Patrol (Hey, Love)

At this years stamp camp we did our prize patrol a little different. I asked each of my team members to create a prize with an image from the fun Hey, Love stamp set. By doing this, our guests got to see 5 different projects created with this adorable set.

Today, I am going to share our Prize Patrol projects, as well as some highlights from our stamp camp.

At this camp we offered two camp kits. A regular one, and a deluxe one. This was our first time offering something like this. Most of our guests took advantage of the deluxe offer. We weren’t sure if this would affect our check in process, but everything went so smoothly. Zeny assisted me at the check in table, Berd was standing by to pass out the basic kits and after everyone got settled, those who ordered deluxe kits, went to see Norine and Jodi (pictured in the back)

Welcome To Stamp Camp

Welcome To Stamp Camp

When everyone checked in they choose a name tag. Each name tag was adorned with an image from the Hey, Love stamp set. We used all of the images in the set, except the Alligator.

Our first prize patrol was given to anyone who had the bird image on their name tag. Of course Berd, was the designer of this prize patrol. I say that because the little bird is super cute, just like Berd is. Oh and yes, there is also the reason that it is one of the smallest images and Berd is not a big fan of coloring, Lol.

Berd explained how these were made without any adhesive. She made them in a variety of “In Colors”, they were all super cute!

Norine made this Stinkin’ Sweet Hand Sanitizer holder using the skunk image. I love the colors she chose, it matched perfectly with the hand sanitizer.

Next up was a prize from Zeny. Zeny chose this little Gopher image and created a fancy box with a candy treat inside.

This little Gopher looks hungry! I bet he wishes he could eat the delicious treat Zeny put inside her box. Zeny loves snacks, especially chocolate! When she gives you a treat, her eyes light up as she describes it to you!

I can hear her now… “oooh, look what’s in my cute little box…. CHOCOLATE, yum, you want some???”

Jodi created a box with a treat inside too! Jodi, who is the Critter Queen, chose the cute little Otter image. Jodi came up with this cute saying and added a printed banner that read, “you otter be drinking hot chocolate”.

Inside Jodi’s cute box was all the fixings for a cup of hot cocoa with marshmallows.

My prize patrol was last. I had the Ape image. I did a different kind of a treat. I used one of our sweet cups to make a shave ice. Of course I forgot to take a close up photo of it. So here is a picture of the back of the project…. It’s still cute, don’t you think?

This Sweet Cup was filled with a bath scrubbie and topped with a bath bomb. I stamped an image from the set Beach Happy on a circle that I mounted to the back the Sweet Cup.

The front of the cup had the ape image. Below are some photos of the winners! If you get out a magnifying glass you can see the little ape image on the front of the cup!!!

Since it was a candy themed event we surprised everyone and handed them a small wrapped chocolate bar. We then let everyone know that inside one of the bars was a tiny golden ticket. Everyone opened them at the same time and Berna was the lucky winner.

She was so excited to win this golden prize filled with Stampin’ Up! gold products that she immediately began to sing the Bruno Mars 24 Karat song! We are so happy she won, her musical celebration made our day!

Stamp Camp was really great. We so look forward to spending this day together.

The food at this camp was a delicious bento.

Pam is a major foodie so knowing she was happy, made us feel great!

It is amazing to gather together for some inspiration, creativity and fun. I love to see the joy on peoples faces when they greet one another. I love to see how everyone is so supportive and helpful to one another as they create together!

As I walked the room to check on everyone, I saw the joy on Cheryl’s face as she passed her phone around the table to introduce everyone to her first grandchild, who was born that morning.

Cheryl has good news!

I love how when we gather it is about so much more than just stamping.

Stampin’ Up’s statement of the heart summarizes it best, it says,

I hope that those who came to camp felt inspired, encouraged, supported and most of all loved.

Thank you for letting me share with you today. I hope you enjoyed these projects and the people who created them who mean so much to me!

With lots of love and aloha,

May Inspiration Night

Every month I have an Inspiration Night with my wonderful Stamped With Aloha team.  Due to my stamp room remodel I had asked my downline Jodi if she would be willing to coordinate our May gathering.  Jodi agreed to help and soon after I saw the project she planned to share.  I got so excited because EVERYTHING Jodi creates is adorable.  Jodi loves "critters" so we had a Critter themed inspiration night.  Here is the project she shared.

All of these adorable little cards had matching handmade envelopes and featured items from our A Little Foxy Suite.  Each guest coming to Inspiration Night received a sampler of the A Little Foxy Designer Series paper so they could choose the pattern of their choice to create matching envelopes.

Jodi shared with everyone how to use our amazing envelope punch board.  This is the tool we used to create the fun envelopes that went with these adorable cards.

The envelopes were all so fun and pretty and the perfect match to the cute cards.  Let's take a closer look at the cards.

Fox and friends is one of Jodi's favorites because it has critters in it of course.  The first two cards featured this adorable fox and each guest was able to choose which sentiment they wanted to put on the cards.

The next card featured this adorable punch art girl.  It was fun to see all the different variations of hair people would give her as they created their cards.  The words on these two cards came from the stamp set, Teeny Tiny Wishes.

I was so appreciative to Jodi for taking on this project and prepping the almost 40 packets that had to be ready for everyone who came.  I originally intended on helping her because I thought when I asked her the only complication I had going on was my stamp room construction.  The added unexpected health challenge I'm currently facing was not apart of what I had planned.  However, I saw God's faithfulness once again in having Jodi in charge of Inspiration Night because it would have been almost impossible for me to pull it off.

Shorty after receiving my breast cancer diagnosis, I learned that the same day as Inspiration Night I would be scheduled to meet the surgeon to discuss plans for my treatment.  I was able to go to this appointment and then come to Inspiration Night and just enjoy the love and encouragement from my wonderful downline who made me feel so special.

As everyone entered, some were surprised to see me there.  I was greeted with hugs and lots of love and many words of encouragement.  Several of these women shared their own stories of difficulties they had been through.  I was so touched by their transparency and caring hearts.

Just being with everyone and watching them have such a good time creating this adorable project lifted my spirits and made me feel better.

And then there was these two amazing ladies, Jodi and Norine who insisted that they run next months Inspiration Night too so I wouldn't have to worry about it.  They sat and reviewed the new catalog looking for what products they would like to feature in June.

I feel so blessed to have such amazing sisters in my life.

I am so grateful to Jodi for sharing her amazing project with us.  If you would like to know how to make this adorable project Jodi has really detailed information on her blog, The Stamping Owl.  Click the link to see Jodi's post and you will find all the measurements and supplies you need.

Even though my circumstances are challenging at the moment, I am grateful to God for showing me that He is in control.  I had so much peace knowing Jodi had Inspiration Night covered so I could just focus on dealing with my unexpected circumstances.   This is just another sign of how God was showing me that He is in control and I can rest in Him.

Gifts Galore

One of my love languages is gift giving.  I love to give things to others that makes them smile and know that they were thought of.  Perhaps that is why giving away prizes at our Stamp Camps is always a highlight for me.

One of the fun things we do at Stamp Camp is create hand stamped prizes.  Each of the members of my fabulous event team creates a hand made item to be a part of our prize patrol.   Today's post will feature the 5 prize patrol items created by my fabulous team as well as some of our grand prize winners!

The first prize was made by Berdina. This lovely hard cover blank journal is so pretty.

Penned and Painted Journal - www.stampedwithaloha.com

Penned and Painted Journal - www.stampedwithaloha.com

When I saw this book I loved the stamping but didn't recognize the images.  Berd explained that it is from the set called Penned and Painted on page 143 of our Stampin' Up! 2016-2017 catalog.  The reason I didn't recognize it is that Berd didn't use the outline image which when you use it gives it an entirely different look.   This is one of Berd's favorite stamp sets and now we are both sad it is retiring this year.

I love Berd's simple style.  This journaling book is not only beautiful but also very useful and would make a great gift.

Norine created a tiny gift and note card set.  The little note cards were tucked inside this adorable bag.  Norine explained that this idea came from a larger bag her friend Iris had given her and she wanted to try and make it smaller to hold a gift card and a note card.

The two of them worked together and created this adorable tiny tote pictured below.  I think it came out absolutely adorable, don't you?

Zeny's gift was next, she was inspired by a video tutorial she saw by Stampin' Up! demonstrator Kelly Acheson.  Kelly had created this amazing die cut box and Zeny is passionate about creating boxes so she couldn't wait to give Kelly's box a try.  Zeny shared a bit about how she made the box and showed how she created it in different colors.

Jodi's project was this cute note pad holder with a critter on it.  Jodi is our Critter Queen and basically everything she makes is simply adorable, just like Jodi.

Jodi used the stamp set Playful Pals, which is one of her favorite sets that is also on the retired list.

For my prize patrol I created a tea box that was designed by Stampin' Up! demonstrator Rina Meushaw.  I copied Rina's template exactly because I thought it was so perfect,   I love Tazo Tea's and thought the winners of this prize would enjoy them too.

I incorporated the Watercolor Wings stamp set as well as the Succulent Garden Designer Paper that was featured on all of our stamp camp projects.  The green circle and word "hello" came from a brand new stamp set called Eastern Beauty that is an early release stamp set from our brand new Stampin' Up! catalog that will be out June 1st.

This project was made by using our envelope punch board and it was really quick and easy.  I know I will be making more of these adorable tea boxes in the future.

I spoke with Rina and she was happy that we were inspired by her project.  Rina has an excellent You Tube video tutorial explaining how she created this box.  If you'd like to see it you can click here and she will give you complete instructions on how to recreate this adorable project.  Thank you Rina for your inspiration!

I was thrilled that the recipients of our prize patrol prizes were all very happy with what they received.

Another giveaway that happens at the end of our event is our Grand Prize baskets.  Each of the demonstrators on my event team create a themed basket full of Stampin' Up! products.  It is fun to see what everyone comes up with.

This year my prize basket contained many of the items from our Succulent Garden Suite and I even included a real succulent plant with the prize.

It is always so exciting to call out the names of the winners and celebrate with them at the end of our camp.

As I focus on gifts today, one of those that was evident at our event was the gift of love and friendship. I was so blessed to work with this amazing team.  I can't thank them enough for all the hard work they did at this event.

They give so much not to get credit or glory for themselves but really with hearts that genuinely care about the people attending wanting them to have a good time.

I so appreciate the effort they gave in assisting Pam set up her table as she had injured her wrist earlier that week.  They helped her role these adorable cones to hold a delicious snack mix Pam had made.

I think the sentiment on this adorable plant pick perfectly expresses our wish that everyone who came would experience a perfect day.

As our guests left I felt overwhelmed with all the hugs and compliments that were shared.  It made me feel so happy that everyone truly did have a wonderful experience at Stamp Camp.

It was also a gift to see how our guests bonded as they spent time together.  I am glad that new friendships were formed and old friendship were strengthened.

As Wanda and Olivia left Wanda thanked Olivia for all the help she gave that day.  Normally Wanda would take a lot longer to complete her projects but with Olivia sitting by her guiding her, she was able to finish her projects in record time.

It made me so happy to see so many people working together enjoying creativity and having fun.

From the moment we prayed over these seats asking for God's blessing over this event  until the moment we packed everything up and cleaned up the room, I was grateful for the gift of having this special time together.

A special thanks to all of you who attended this event.  We felt so happy to know you had a wonderful day.  We look forward to having another stamp camp in the future but until then we will look back upon this experience and what a gift it was to have you there.  Thanks to all of you who also joined the fun just by following my posts and letting me know how much you enjoyed seeing and learning about these Spring stamp camp projects.

Since this post was about gifts, I want to end it by reminding you of something.   I hope each of you will  know that from the moment you opened your eyes this morning you were given a precious gift, the gift of life!  God has blessed you with a new day to experience His amazing love for you.  My prayer for you is that you would come to an understanding of how much you are loved and then go out and spread that love with others.  Whether it is in sharing words of encouragement, giving a hug or blessing someone with a hand stamped creation know that you can truly make a difference in this world, one stamp at a time!

Spring Sensation Week

Last weekend over 70 happy stampers gathered at Paradise Park in Manoa Valley to attend a Spring Themed Stamp Camp.  We had an amazing time.  This week I will be sharing about this event but there is too much to share in just a single post so be sure to check back or subscribe to my blog to hear all about it.

The projects at the stamp camp featured the Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper and most of the projects also featured the Watercolor Wings stamp set.

When I design projects for large events I challenge myself to design projects that use only a couple of ink pads and one or two stamp sets at the most.  It just makes it simpler, especially when stamping with a large group.   Whether you are stamping this way at an event or even at home, I like to show you ways you can create a variety of projects with minimal supplies.

Let's take a look at a couple of the projects we made at the camp.

One of my favorite projects that we made was a metal card holder that held three Watercolor Wings Cards.

Watercolor Wings Card Holder - www.stampedwithaloha.com

Watercolor Wings Card Holder - www.stampedwithaloha.com

The metal card holder shown above was actually a napkin holder that I found at Walmart.  It was just the right size to hold a set of cards and when the cards are gone you can either restock it with more cards or use it as it was intended, as a napkin holder.

The butterfly focal point was stamped with the Watercolor Wings Stamp set and the rest was cut out with a Big Shot using both the Stampin' Up! Bold Butterfly Framelits and Butterfly Thinlits.

Inside this cute holder was three butterfly cards.

Watercolor Wings Cards - www.stampedwithaloha.com

Watercolor Wings Cards - www.stampedwithaloha.com

Two of the cards are exactly the same, except for the use of a different sheet of designer paper.  The designer paper on the top is 2 x 4.  The designer paper on the bottom is 3 x 4.  Blocking card stock or Designer Paper in this way is a great way to create a colorful back ground on a card without having to use stamping or embossing.

Watercolor Wings Card - www.stampedwithaloha.com

Watercolor Wings Card - www.stampedwithaloha.com

This card is simple and beautiful no matter what side of the Designer Paper you use.  I like the sentiment, "you are so kind", that's such a great way to express gratitude and thankfulness while being encouraging at the same time.

Here is a close up of the second card that uses the exact same measurements and supplies.

The third card had a tiny bit of stamping on the top and some simple embossing on the bottom with the Fluttering Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

When all of the stamping and assembling was done this card was wrapped up in a cello bag and topped with a ribbon.

Doesn't this make a fun gift?  Especially for all of your butterfly loving friends.  This would make a great hostess gift or even a gift that you could give for Mother's Day next week!

Another fun gift idea we shared  was this cute little paper succulent.  These would work as a small gift or even as a party favor.  Everyone got to create one mini paper succulent plant at camp.

Paper Succulents - www.stampedwithaloha.com

Paper Succulents - www.stampedwithaloha.com

These little succulents were made with the Succulent Framelit Dies.  I used Garden Green Card stock that was sponged with Sweet Sugarplum ink.  The little pot was filled with tissue paper and we glued some moss under the paper succulent to make it look more real.

Since we were featuring the Succulent Garden Designer Paper at this stamp camp not only did everyone get to take home a paper succulent but they also got to enjoy an edible succulent.

Succulent Cupcakes - www.stampedwithaloha.com

Aren't these cupcakes incredible? These were created by Pam Tsuzaki.  Whenever Pam helps us at our events we know we can expect an over the top display because she is SO gifted at making things special.  Pam made these little succulents out of frosting.

These adorable treats were served at the end of camp when Pam reset her decorative snack table with desserts.  Pam even thought to offer a healthier choice and she created these fruit cups that were drizzled with honey and sprinkled with basil leaves and a whole lot of love.  Everything looked too pretty to eat so many took out their cameras to capture the entire display before they ate!!

I can't thank Pam enough for making our camp so special with all her sweet treats!  In another post I'll show you what she did for snacks earlier in the day.

Pam is such an incredibly talented person and I feel so honored and blessed to call her my friend. I so appreciate her kindness and thoughtfulness to use her gifts to bless us all at stamp camp!

Well, I hope you've enjoyed this first look at our Spring Stamp Camp.  There is a lot more to share so be sure to check back soon and remember,  if you subscribe to my blog you will get notified in your email every time I post.

I look forward to sharing more with you about this fabulous event and I hope you will be inspired to create some fun Spring projects of you own.

Stamped Blessings,  Cindy
