Pop Tarts For Days!

In 1964 the Kellogg company created a sugary, fruit filled toaster pastry which they named a Pop Tart!  Over the years Pop Tarts have grown in popularity as they've come out with a wide variety of flavors.  Strawberry and Brown Sugar are two of the most popular.

A wonderful young man I know named Justin recently celebrated his 30th birthday.  Justin loves Pop Tarts more than any other person I know.  This is no secret which was evident by the truck load of Pop Tarts he received on his birthday from many different people.

Since I was one of those people who gave him Pop Tarts I thought I would take a shot at creating a Pop Tart Card, a first for me!   Since Justin has a big personality, I couldn't just make a plain Pop Tart Card, I needed to make a Pop Tart with personality!

Here is the card I created for Justin.

The base of this card was made with Crumb Cake Card Stock.  Seems like the perfect name for a "on the go" breakfast pastry card.  I sponged some Crumb Cake ink on the edges to give the card a toasted look.   I tried to copy a Strawberry Pop Tart by adding a layer of frosting.  I did this by cutting a piece of white glossy card stock and then using a pair of scissors to cut random waves around the edges.  I then added the sprinkles by adhering enamel shapes in various colors all over the front of the card.  I created a eyes with a 1/2 inch circle punch and a mouth with a 3/4 inch circle punch.   I added two Basic Black strips of card stocks for arms which held wording that I got from the Birthday Delivery Stamp Set.

Since a Strawberry Pop Tart has filling, I made sure to add a layer of Pink Pirouette Card Stock to the inside of the card that I stamped with the words, "Happy Birthday" from the same Birthday Delivery Stamp Set.

It was really fun creating this card for Justin because he is a very creative person whom I know would appreciate the creation of a card that replicated his favorite "go to" snack that he consumes morning, noon and night!

I think this card is cute and sweet.  It was fairly simple to make and has zero calories!

Since Justin received such a large amount of Pop Tarts on his special day makes me think a more appropriate greeting for this card should have been, "Hip Hip Horray, More Pop Tarts Are On The Way"!!!

I guess Justin will be eating  Pop Tarts for Days!!! I am quite sure he will enjoy every single minute!

Happy Birthday Justin!
