The other day I received an unexpected package in the mail. It wasn't my birthday or any special occasion so receiving it was a surprise! The package was a priority mail box that had been elaborately decorated with a sharpie pen. You could tell that it was decorated with a lot of LOVE.
In addition to all of the decorative touches and love notes written on the top of the box, there was also a sweet message written on the side too.
When I flipped the box over it was addressed to "the Stunning and Fabulous Cindy Baughman". I didn't know what was inside the box yet but it really didn't matter. My very creative, sweet, talented and thoughtful niece Alesha had already made my day just by sending me an unexpected suprise that was decorated with many kind words and lots of love.
There's just something about Alesha that makes me smile. She is like a ray of sunshine wherever she goes! Alesha really brightens a room when she is around with her beautiful smile and kind heart.
Even though we live thousands of miles a part, she was one of the first persons to text me when I found out I had breast cancer. Since then she has been a huge encouragement to me though the way she has continued to check on me through her text messages and phone calls. I know that the encouragement I feel is what she brings to everyone she comes in contact with. She is just a very special person!
Alesha celebrated her birthday last month. Did I mention that she is a huge fan of Wonder Woman? So I decided that I would do my best to make a special card for this special young woman whom I adore.
In honor of her love of Wonder Woman I decided to try to make a punch art Wonder Woman card.
I used the stamp set SUPER DUPER to create a decorative red and blue background for this card. This set had the perfect sentiment for both the outside and the inside of the card. I also used a bunch of jewel rhinestones and metallic enamel shapes in various sizes to add sparkle to the background.
For the outside sentiment I stamped image twice, once with Basic Black ink and once with Real Red ink. Then I fussy cut the words Super Duper that were stamped in Real Red and used a dimensional to lift them up.
The Super Duper stamp set also has a Happy Birthday stamp and that is what I used to stamp on the inside of this card.
After receiving her card and gift Alesha called me to tell me how much she loved what I had sent her. Of course I had to address my package to "The Lovely and Talented Alesha Baughman AKA Wonder Woman".
Alesha thanked me for the gift and told me how much she loved the card I made. Had I been with her when she opened the card I would have loved to have taken a photo of her with it. So I asked her, "do you mind sending me a photo of you with your card?" Without hesitation, this is the photo I received shortly after asking.
Oh my goodness, Isn't this just the best! My kind and thoughtful niece exceeded my expectations by sending me this amazing picture of her and the card I had made for her.
I was happy to hear that Alesha had a SUPER time celebrating her special day! But then again when you hang around Alesha, everyday is pretty SUPER because of the way she lives life to the fullest!
"Keep on encouraging others and being the bright light that you are WONDER-ful Alesha." "You truly have blessed and encouraged me and I am so grateful for you!"
