On Sunday I stepped outside of my home about 45 minutes before our Bakers Bunco was going to begin. I was expecting 20 people that afternoon and I had to smile when I realized it was early yet many of my guests had already arrived. That's what happens when we gather for Bunco, everyone really looks forward to the fellowship, food and fun.
Our theme this month was baking. I highlighted two Stampin' Up! stamp sets Perfect Mix and Homemade for You.
I chose a stamp from the set Perfect Mix that said "Baking Makes Life Sweeter" for the front of my party favor! I stamped those words onto a small card and mounted it onto one of our petite cafe bags. I colored the image with Stampin' Write markers and added some punched hearts as embellishments.
The bag was topped with a cute polka dot bow that was punched with our Bow Builder Punch.
These little bags are really adorable. If you love to give baked goods as gifts you should try packaging them in these cute bags.
They are lined on the inside so they can hold your favorite sweet treats. They also have a tin tie closure at the top to keep things fresh. These bags are $6 for a package of 10.
To go with our baking theme, I made homemade cookies to place inside. Everyone seemed really happy to go home with this cute bag filled with homemade treats.
For our Aloha Prize I called on my dear friend Annie who sells my favorite line of kitchen products, Pampered Chef. Annie gave me some wonderful Season's Best Cookbooks to use as prizes as well as two mini spatulas. These little spatulas are so great and useful!!! I think they are kind of like potato chips because you can't have just one, especially if you are like me and enjoy entertaining a lot.
I bundled these wonderful prizes up in one of our clear Stampin' Up! cello bags and added a tag I made with the Homemade For You stamp set. The tag was simple, just the word "Delish" with the "I" dotted with a jeweled rhinestone.
We had a lot of fun at Bunco this month. On Sunday I took a photo of some of the prize winners. Zeny, pictured in the middle, was especially happy to receive our Aloha prize that day.
The prizes all fit the baking theme. There was the Perfect Mix and Homemade for You stamp sets, Bakers Twine, Cherry Cobbler and Crumb Cake Card Stock, Ink Pads and Re-inkers.
I love the happy faces of all the winners.
Speaking of happy faces, Shelly was not too happy that she didn't win a prize this time or at least she was doing a good job pretending not to be.
However when we had our recipe swap she received this card and in no time....Her frown was turned upside down.
I thought it was such a creative idea for Sarina to share a recipe for Happiness card in our Recipe Card swap!
The swap was a lot of fun. The cards were all 4 x 6 in size and stamped with our favorite Stampin' Up! products. Just look at the stash I collected. How fun to have so many new favorite recipes to try.
I took two piece of chipboard and covered them with card stock. I used both the Perfect Mix and the Homemade for You stamp sets to design this simple Recipe Card Book Cover.
Then after everyone shared their recipes we all got to bind them together to create this fun little colorful recipe book.
Would you like to see a few of these recipe cards close up so you can make some of these yummy dishes?
Zeny shared this yummy salmon recipe. I tried it last week and it came out amazing. I am so glad I now have a new way to create salmon since we eat it once a week.
Roxanne made this double sided card. The front had this Mediterranean look.
The back had a recipe for Greek Stuffed Peppers.
Norine not only shared this recipe but she brought a big bowl of this dessert for all of us to enjoy. It was so delicious and refreshing and GONE by the end of the night. This dessert is perfect for entertaining this summer, I highly recommend trying it. I know I'm going to.
I'm sure you know by now that I love spending time with people and especially love the wonderful friends who come over for classes and events like Bunco.
Jennifer always arrives looking so cute. I loved her bunny shirt and she even brought coordinating sweet treats.
Liane brought her usually energy and sense of humor and made us all laugh. She was especially excited to win a prize on Monday night. Can you tell?
Liane's Mom Gerry came and brought her beautiful smile and sweet spirit. I was so happy she won a prize too!
Lauren and I sing together at church. I was so glad she could attend for the first time and she brought her sweet Aunty with her. It was so much fun to have them both join the fun and the bonus was she went home with a prize.
We also had another very special first time attendee, Goldie's precious baby boy! He is only 3 weeks old and is such a sweetheart! What a bundle of joy!
This month we truly did have the Perfect Mix of laughter, sharing, delicious food, creative recipes , yummy prizes, party favors, fellowship and fun with friends. I can't wait till we do it again!
