Last week Wednesday was my final card class with the wonderful ladies at First Presbyterian Church of Honolulu. This was my third time being invited to participate in their Wednesday's At Ko'olau (WAKO) classes and I was so blessed to have been invited back again this year.
The ladies were so kind and it was really fun to share a creative hour with them on Wednesday evenings during the month of August.
Here are the cards we created at our last session together.
The first card featured the exclusive hostess set Gift of Love. I also used a new In Color on this card, Sweet Sugar Plum. This card shows a form of Two Step Stamping and is great for those who like colorful cards but don't like to color. You start by stamping the black outline flower image and then stamp two additional stamps over the top that fill in the flower and the leaves in seconds. .
The next card was this Snappy Birthday card that features this cute camera stamp from another hostess set, Pun Intended.
This card also features this super cute Designer Series Paper from the Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series Collection. I used a single jewel rhinestone to highlight the camera lens and embellished the camera front wit a single heart from the Confetti Heart border punch.
Since this was my last class with the ladies I wanted to make the final card a little different. So I created this simple Get Well Card that uses one of the few Single stamps we have in our catalog, a stamp called Get Well Soup.
I was able to show them how to use the aqua painters to add color to the soup bowl and used a heart from the sweetheart framelits to add a bright colorful Real Red heart to the front of the bowl. This 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 piece of Marina Mist Card Stock was placed on a simply scored board and scored at 4 inches and 8 inches. I then folded the remaining 1/2 inch and taped it together using Tear Tape so that it created a sleeve of card stock. I then punched a hole at the top through both layers and ran a piece of our new In Color Watermelon Ribbon through it.
Inside this folded card was a surprise, a packet of soup! Everyone seemed thrilled to end our class with this fun card and gift all in one.
After demoing and helping for a short while I had to leave class early because I had to get to Waipahu for New Hope Leewards Waipahu Campus Dedication service. My downline and friend Roxanne who lives very close to where this class was held came over to finish the class for me.
I was glad that all the ladies were able to meet Roxanne, she has a heart of gold and I can say when I picked up my supplies that she had packed for me they have never been cleaner or more organized. I love her work ethic but most of all her amazing aloha spirit. Knowing her is a blessing!
Mahalo to all the wonderful ladies that attended our Hand Stamped Card Class at WAKO this year.
It was a joy and blessing stamping with you each week and I hope that there will be more opportunities in the future for us to stamp together again.
