Last week I had another enjoyable evening stamping in Kaneohe with a wonderful group of ladies. As I was waiting for the class to begin Shirley came in and shared a story with me about one of the cards she had made in class two weeks before. Shirley's friend had recently been diagnosed with some very serious health challenges and she took this card to that person to let them know that she was thinking of them and praying for them. This is the card that she shared.
As she shared the details of the situation and her visit, I was so touched to see that something we had created in class was already being used to brighten the day of someone who needed encouragement. I hugged Shirley and thanked her for sharing her story with me.
It's moments like these that make me feel so grateful to have the opportunity to use creativity to make a difference!
It was now time to begin class and all the lovely ladies arrived. Each one of them has become such a blessing to me and I so look forward to stamping with them each week.
Here are the cards I taught them this week.
Our theme for the evening was Beautiful Blessings and Blossoms which featured cards with flowers on them. The black and white card on the left and the floral card in the center are both created with images from the Birthday Blooms stamp set.
Card one celebrates the Blessing of Friendship and displays a single flower that has been colored with Stampin Write markers. The Calypso Coral strip on the left side has been textured with the Lovely Lace Textured Embossing folder.
As I demonstrated this card one of the ladies pointed out that Barbara pretty floral shirt matched our card perfectly.
What a beautiful card created by Beautiful Barbara!
The next card is very simple but elegant and only uses a basic black ink pad. It just so happened that Ann had on the perfect outfit to match this card as well.
This card is elegant and beautiful just like Ann is, she was the perfect model.
For the greeting on this card I used the stamp set Rose Wonder which has coordinating framelits that create this nice front label. Rose Wonder has amazingly beautiful sentiment stamps in it, including this one that I used here that says, "What a Beautiful Blessing You Are".
The final card was a Botanical Blooms card.
It was great to hear all the ladies gasp when I stamped the red centers of the flowers. Two step stamping usually gets that reaction, especially when done in front of people who have never seen it before. The Botanical Blooms set has so many beautiful images but I kept things simple with a combination of Daffodil Delight, Real Red and Old Olive. This stamp reminds me of my favorite Hibiscus called, the Hula Girl.
As you can see I purposely layered the sentiment over a flower that had been stamped underneath to add dimension.
Well... that wraps up last weeks session and tonight I am heading back there one last time. I have to admit I'm a bit sad because I've so enjoyed this wonderful gathering of women who I've been honored to spend a creative hour each week for the past 4 weeks.
Meeting and stamping with them has truly been a Beautiful Blessing!
