One of the things I love about our new annual catalog is that we have a section of Christmas stamps. One of the newest is a set called, Peace This Christmas. It seems that every year I vow to work on Christmas projects and somehow I usually end up getting busy and often just after Thanksgiving I'm thinking, "Wasn't I supposed to have begun my Christmas Cards in July"?
Well, this year is a year of Change for me. I want to learn to focus on learning to trust God more, to tune into His Spirit for wisdom and direction and to not allow myself to get overwhelmed with things that aren't important. I want to learn to love others more than myself and to appreciate all the blessings that have been given to me.
As my husband and I have spent time in Chamonix, France this July I was reminded as I looked upon and hiked through the beautiful, peaceful snow capped mountains to stick to my commitment of experiencing Peace This Christmas.
So that is what inspired today's blog post! Here is the first of the cards I've designed with the beautiful new stamp set appropriately named Peace This Christmas.
This card features the beautiful This Christmas designer series paper. This paper is lighter weight than our normal DSP and would be great to use as gift wrap because its easy to fold and crease. I used coordinating colors Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green on this card and textured the Garden Green with the beautiful new Holly embossing folder. Creating texture with embossing folders is one of my favorite things to do on my projects and I can tell that this new Holly folder is going to be used a lot to create Holiday projects this year.
I am committed to staying on top of things this year and experiencing Christmas Peace so to keep me accountable to my commitment to myself you will see Christmas Projects at my July Christmas themed Bunco events and one of my monthly Stamp A Stack cards will be a Christmas card as well.
That way I hope to inspire you to join me in focusing on preparing ahead. By doing so together we can focus on the true meaning of Christmas and all experience Love, Joy and Peace This Christmas.
