Playful Pals Pineapple

Tomorrow is the official start of the Stampin' Up! Grand Vacation in the Mediterranean.   I am currently writing from Barcelona, Spain where we are spending a few days prior to the cruise.  I have had an amazing experience so far and as soon as I can sit down and sort through the hundreds of photos I've been taking, I'll be sure to share some of my favorite moments of this amazing adventure.

Today, however,  I wanted to show you the card swap I made for our cruise swap.  This card was made with the stamp set, Playful Pals.

Prior to the arrival of our new Pineapple stamp I was always trying to make pineapples out of other images.  Usually I made them with framelits or punches but when I was playing around with our Playful Pals stamp set, I came up with this one.

Playful Pals is a great set in which you can make lots of critters.  A bear, a chicken, an elephant, a frog, etc.  But who knew that you could even use this set to make a pineapple who appears to have a personality!!   The image is entirely stamped with pieces from the Playful Pals except for the crown which I created with the framelit that makes the frogs foot.  I cut it out and trimmed it to be the perfect size I needed.

Since this card says, "Sweet as Sweet can be" I thought it would be fun to enclose a packet of Pineapple Tea inside so the recipient would have a sweet treat from paradise!

To make the coordinating envelope, I just used the left over scrap of card stock where I had cut out the frogs foot and used it as a template.  I positioned the template on top of the pineapple and colored with a marker.

This is the same card I created for my next downline Inspiration Night since the featured stamp set that evening is Playful Pals.  Of course our swap was supposed to be a "critter" swap but since this pineapple has a face on it, I think it could be considered a critter?  Don't you?

I hope you like this fun and creative way to use this fantastic stamp set.  If you haven't purchased it yet, it is going to be available in our new catalog.  I hope that when you use this set you will now know that besides creating some adorable critters you can also create a pineapple with a personality to brighten someones day!
