I am honored to be a part of the Grand Vacation Achievers Blog Hop for May. The theme this month is a 2016-2017 Annual Catalog Sneak Peek.
You may just be starting the blog hop here at Stamped With Aloha or you may have come from the person previous to me on the list. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you can see all the projects. You're in for a real treat, so I hope you will enjoy every fun project shared by this amazing group of demonstrators whom I am honored to be a part of.
Although I live in Hawaii, I'm actually writing this post from Paris, France. It's a first stop for me as I make my way to the Grand Vacation next week which begins in Barcelona, Spain. Being in Paris has been amazing, however it is also bittersweet because I was supposed to meet my demonstrator friend Georgia here. Georgia was unable to attend because she was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and needed to stay home for treatment. So, it was with Georgia in mind that I created this special Pink Pineapple card.
I stamped the Pineapple in Old Olive ink onto a white card stock. Then I inked it again and stamped it on a scrap of white card stock and cut out the top of the pineapple with my paper snips. I cleaned the stamp and then inked and stamped it in Pink Pirouette onto another scrap of white card stock and then cut out the bottom part with my paper snips. I layered these cut pieces over the green pineapple base and attached them with dimensionals. It's hard to see but I added a little wink of stella to the front of the pineapple to add some shimmer. I finished everything off as I usually do, with a jeweled layered flower that was punched with one of our new in colors, Flirty Flamingo. The background image was made with the Pop of Paradise stamp set which has this awesome leaf stamp that coordinates well with the Pineapple stamp and the bonus is this new stamp set also has a smaller pineapple stamp in it as well.
I hope as my Georgia receives this card that she will be encouraged. She has really been strong through this entire life challenge due to her strong faith in the Lord. It has been wonderful to see how she has blessed so many by sharing her testimony of where her help and strength comes from.
I know that one thing she will not get to experience next week is "pillow gifts" or the little surprise blessings Stampin' Up! leaves on our pillow each night which is really something to look forward to. I thought it would be fun to send Georgia a small surprise blessing along with this card and I knew JUST the perfect thing to get for her.
Georgia recently introduced me to Alex and Ani bracelets. In fact, she bought me my very first one, a PINEAPPLE one of course. What she doesn't know is that just a few days ago this store opened up in Honolulu and they have an exclusive Aloha bracelet. Aloha is my favorite word. The Aloha Spirit is one of my favorite things and one of the nicest compliments I've ever received is when my friend Liane told me, "Cindy, you DO Aloha". That's probably why it was a simple choice to name my Stampin' Up! team, Stamped With Aloha so many years ago..
When I saw this bracelet I fell in love with it and wanted to bless Georgia this week with a surprise gift of Aloha to let her know she was on my mind.
I hope that when she receives it she will feel the joy of knowing she is in my thoughts and prayers and that she is LOVED.
I know that not everyone reads every word of a blog post, sometimes its easier to look at the photos and then jump to something else but if you've read this post up to this point can I ask you to do me a favor? Would you please say a prayer for my friend Georgia that God will heal her, comfort her and strengthen her. I believe in the power of prayer and like so much of what we do as stampers, I believe that "together we CAN make a difference". Thank you so much!
