As promised here is the first of a series of posts that will highlight some of the fun we had at OnStage 2016. Just shortly after arriving in Utah, we went straight to the Blue Plate Diner, one of our favorite places to eat. This restaurant was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Everything they serve is amazing!
We checked into the hotel and even though Zeny and I had been up most of the night, we still headed out to shop. We went straight to our favorite store, Buckle and spent a couple hours just perusing through each section of the store, enjoying every minute.
Later that evening when we got back to our hotel I found a special gift that had been mailed from a sweet friend named Missy who was not going to be able to attend OnStage. Missy created this adorable tea-themed 12 x 12 sampler. Isn't this sweet and such a thoughtful surprise?
The next day Million Dollar Linda arrived. That is her pictured on the right. Linda is one of my Advisory Board Sisters and you will hear a lot about her in my next few posts including the reason why I am calling her Million Dollar Linda. Kim, Linda and I decided a few months back we wanted to join together to throw an OnStage Premier Party for our downline. We planned something unique, an APPLE themed event.
Our party was held at Gracie's in Salt Lake City where we had a private room. We arrived early to set up the room and waited for our downline to arrive. We all wore matching "you're the apple of my eye" t-shirts. Doesn't Linda look cute in hers?
In front of everyone's chair we placed some red glimmer paper, a chalk marker, a laminated apple of my eye bag tag, an apple shaped bottle of Martinelli's apple juice and a mock candy apple favor.
I created these candy apple favors by filling a wash cloth with caramel apple Werther candies. I bundled the candy in a wash cloth and placed it at the bottom of one of our cello bags then added a stick in the middle and tied it together with sparkly ribbon. The front image was stamped from the Apple Of My Eye stamp set, cut out with scissors and adorned with a jeweled flower.
Kim created these adorable laminated tags using the same stamp set. I just LOVE how this tag came out!
I found the centerpiece at Hobby Lobby. I love display pieces like this. It worked great as a centerpiece at the party and we had everyone take an apple home for a healthy snack during the week. Now my only challenge is, how am I going to get this metal centerpiece home in my luggage?
We had an apple themed swap where everyone had to make a card using the Apple Of My Eye stamp set. This is the card I created using Deco Label Framelits.
Our guests arrived and we all had a fabulous time. We explained to them we chose an apple theme because like apples, they are sweet. As demonstrators we are also teachers and when a teacher is loved they are often blessed with an apple on their desk.
Made lots of great memories at this event. The food was amazing. I ate the honey apple chicken salad and it was delicious and how appropriate as it fit our theme perfectly. It was fun to watch our groups get to know one another and see new friendships form.
As they left the party they were all given this adorable personalized apple favor. Sadly, I didn't get a good photo of this favor that night so this one is a little weathered from traveling.... but I wanted to share it so you would be inspired to use your Curvy Keepsakes framelit to make an apple. This would make a great gift for a teacher.
Well the 2016 OnStage certainly premiered in a creative, fun and sweet way. Be sure to check back to hear more about our other fun adventures.
