Cupcakes and Cards for a Cause

Last November I had the privileged of attending a performance of Little Red Riding Hood put on by the New Hope YPAC or Youth Performing Arts Center.  This would be the second opportunity I had to watch my friends daughter, Genesis perform.  It was an amazing experience.  Being someone who grew up involved in musical productions, I was very impressed with this group of incredibly talented kids and so grateful that an organization such as this exists here in Hawaii.

Genesis and her Mom (pictured below) are so excited about the groups upcoming trip to Orlando, Florida where Genesis and the ensemble will participate in Orlando Fest 2016.  They will be performing a medley of songs from Disney's Frozen.   How FUN!

A trip to Florida is quite a costly endeavor and I learned that Genesis would have to raise $2,680 to pay for her travel expenses.  So I offered to host a Cupcakes and Cards for a Cause event at my home to help her raise the financial support that she needs.

Genesis came over and we worked on these designs.  Genesis wanted projects that were bright and happy like the Florida sunshine.  As you can see there are two cards and one cupcake holder that you will create at this event.  Let's take a closer look.

Project one is a Sunburst card that is created with our new Sunburst Thinlit die.  It has a little piece of punched gold foil paper and a jeweled flower to add some extra shimmer and shine.

Project 2 is this embossed butterfly card with a bright sunny focal point that features the same jeweled flower and butterfly to make things quick and simple as there may be friends coming who have never stamped before.  Imagine how fun it will be to see the look on their faces after they create these projects and realize that creating a beautiful hand stamped creation is a lot easier than it might seem.

If you think this final project is cute now, imagine how sweet it will be when it is filled with a yummy cupcake that you get to decorate yourself.  You can see that the punched pieces, sentiment and butterfly are an exact match to what you will create for project one.  I purposely designed it that way, again to make this open house style event run smoothly with projects that are quick and simple for all to enjoy.

I would LOVE to have you join me in supporting this precious little girl in her effort to reach her goal.
