My friend Lynne is one of the kindest, sweetest, most selfless persons I know. She works so hard in everything she does to always look out for others needs before her own.
This year has been extra challenging for her due to her extremely busy schedule but she has been a trooper, always smiling, always remaining kind and positive.
It was her birthday a couple of weeks ago. For her celebration, we treated her to an early breakfast at a restaurant we had heard about but had not yet tried called Cafe Lani at Ala Moana.
The restaurant is super cute and we were blessed to have this awesome table right by the front window. I had heard this restaurant was extremely busy so I wondered if this was the right place for us who like to take our time and not feel rushed. I am happy to report that the service was excellent and it turned out to be a great place for a celebration.
If you love bread, this is the place for you. They have a bakery in house and as you dine they continually bring out trays of all kinds of warm and delicious breads. My mouth is watering just thinking about how good it was.
Just having the bread alone was a treat! Since we were unfamiliar with their menu we decided we'd just order a few dishes and eat family style.
We ordered Eggs Benedict which is not something I normally like but it was really good.
The fruit topped French Toast was as delicious as it was beautiful.
And finally we tried the Egg Soufflé.
To get a perspective on how big and fluffy this is, take a look at it next to our birthday girl!
It is bigger than she is!
At the end of the meal we presented Lynne with this card. It had been inserted in a glassine bag envelop with a gold star binder clip (as seen in the first photo of this post).
The set Confetti Celebration has so many fun celebratory words and I used many of them to create this card. I also added some coordinating enamel dots for texture.
I created this card to match the Tory Burch logo that I popped up on the inside of the card.
Tory Burch is one of Lynne's favorite stores and we knew she had her eye on some sandals from there.
So after breakfast we headed straight there so she could shop.
The mall was beautifully decorated for Christmas and when we passed these ornaments, we immediately thought of our sister Lynn L. who we miss everyday. We took this photo and texted it to her so she could share in the fun long distance that day.
In this season of Thanksgiving, I am grateful for these special friends who are family to me. I am grateful for the opportunity we had to set aside time to honor Lynne on her special day.
It was a celebration we all enjoyed and will not soon forget.
Happy Birthday Lynne, it was a joy to celebrate you!
