No Layer Botanical Blooms

This week I needed to play catch up and create some much needed Thank You cards.   Time was running short so I wanted to stamp something that would be pretty but something that I could reproduce quickly.  I decided to challenge myself to do a "No Layer" card.  YIKES!!! This is something that is hard for me because I LOVE layers.  You see it not only in how I stamp, but even in how I dress on a daily basis.  I always use layers!

So for this challenge I picked up my favorite new stamp set, Botanical Blooms and this is what I came up with.

My favorite images in the set are the Monstera leaf and the Hibiscus flower. I see Hibiscus flowers on a daily basis all over the island here on Oahu.  They come in many different colors.  My favorite are the Hula Girl hibiscus, they are yellow and red.  Here are some I passed the other day in a parking lot.  I couldn't resist not taking a photo of them.   This particular hibiscus color combination inspired the choice of colors for my card.

I was really happy with the outcome of this card.  I was definitely stamping outside of my comfort zone stamping a card without layers.  I love how easy it was and to top it off I didn't have to use ANY adhesive at all.

I highly recommend the Botanical Blooms stamp set and know that there will be endless color combinations that can be created using the beautiful flower images in this set.

I hope you are inspired to create a few No Layers cards of you own.
