Our new Handmade for the Holidays occasions catalog is filled with so many wonderful new products! When my new order arrived I wanted to try something unique with the latest Holiday products. Since Hawaiian style cards are often requested by my customers, I decided to try and design 4 Hawaiian Style cards using the Holiday products. Here is what I came up with for this months stamp a stack.
The first card was a case from Jodi's card that I posted couple weeks ago. I just made some minor changes to the color scheme and layout because Jodi's card was just oh so cute as it was.
This card was a little more detailed then the usual stamp a stack cards I teach each month but I loved the feedback I got from my customers who all said that it was worth the extra effort. Everyone just loved this happy card. I loved seeing the smile on Ditas face after she finished and proudly showed off her cute creations.
I have been making 'Hula Girls" out of Stampin' Up! images for years so it seemed quite natural to make these penguins into Holiday Hula Girls.
Lori, who just happens to be a real Hula Girl, gave her approval to this hula themed card.
A few weeks ago my friend Pam pointed out to me that the stamp set, "A World of Thanks" had the word Mahalo in it so I knew I needed to use it for this class. I created the Ipu (a gourd that is often used as a percussion instrument for hula dancing) by using the large snowman framelet from the Snow Friends Framelets bundle. I was really happy how this card turned out.
This was my favorite card of the bunch. I created the palm tree with the Festive Flower Builder Punch and the Washi Label punch. The sand was created with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder. Who knew that this folder that was supposed to make snow would make such perfect grains of sand! I also love the sentiment from the Acorny Thank You stamp set. I love how the HI stands out, and reminds me of the initials of my favorite state, Hawaii.
I am so thankful I got to share these fun and happy cards with so many special friends over the weekend. My friend Lynn who hosts a monthly stack class for me usually stamps and assembles her cards later but I don't think she could resist waiting to put this one together cause she loved it so much. Making friends happy, makes me happy!
Speaking of "Happy", I was so blessed to have Jennifer and her mom join me at my class this weekend. When I first met Jennifer she told me how much her mom loved to stamp and since just 9 days ago Jennifer gave birth to a sweet baby boy her mom came to town to visit. So I was so glad that I had this special Hawaiian Stack planned at this time so that her mom could stamp with us and I was even more glad that...
I got to hold baby while Mom and Grandma stamped!!! It was truly a wonderful weekend of stamped blessings and spreading aloha one stamp at a time!
