I am so excited to have been invited to participate in my very first blog hop. This is the Stampin' Up! Grand Vacation Achievers blog hop and this months theme is "Remember to Give Thanks".
This past week I was in Southern Utah for my 13th trip to the Stampin' Up! Founders Circle. Being a part of the Founders Circle has been something I have treasured because of the friendships I've made while attending. As we met this year knowing this was our last trip, there was plenty of time to reflect and remember to be thankful for the memories that were made at this event over the years.
Five years ago I sat with Georgia on our pajama party swap night, one of the highlights of our event. As we shared we discovered we had many things in common and I was grateful for the start of a new friendship with someone as sweet as Georgia. Georgia has been a part of my adventures with Meg and Lynsay and we have enjoyed many years of rock climbing, hiking, rappelling and outdoor adventures together. This year we did some pretty incredible adventures that I will be writing about very soon in another post.
Knowing that this year would be the last official Founders Circle, I wanted to bless Georgia with a small gift so she would know how thankful I was for her.
I wrapped the gift in one of our take out boxes with a belly band which made it possible to do something quick and simple but also something that expressed how thankful I was for our friendship.
Georgia and I extended our Founders Circle trip one day and went on a six mile hike at Bryce Canyon. With each step that we took, we discovered that we had so much more in common than we ever knew. Our friendship was strengthened and I remembered again why attending Founders Circle was such a treasure. It provided an opportunity to network and share with like minded leaders where we had the opportunity for face to face encouragement and sharing. I will always remember to give thanks to God for blessing my life with the opportunity to attend Founders Circle and meet so many wonderful demonstrators over the years, especially someone like Georgia who I am truly blessed to call my sister an friend.
