This weekend my Mother and Father in law celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary. I can't believe a year has past since the 50th Anniversary party we had in Washington State last year. I was so thankful I was able to be a part of that special day.
Since we live so far away, we aren't able to get together as often as we'd like so we really appreciate the time we do have together.
The color scheme of their wedding was yellow, so I created this anniversary card for them in honor of their anniversary this year and hope they will like it when they receive it.
Speaking of anniversaries, our brother and sister in law, Darren and Lisa celebrated their 25th anniversary not too long ago. This week we had a "rare" opportunity to spend some very special, quality time with them. We met up in Las Vegas and drove to Southern Utah for a weekend of outdoor adventures. Since we were going to be together, Derek and I decided we wanted to bless them with a special dinner out to celebrate their "belated" 25th anniversary. So we took them out to our favorite restaurant here in St. George, The Painted Pony.
The card that I created for them was inspired by the dress Lisa wore at her sons wedding. She looked so beautiful and I love this photo of both of them.
As you can see her dress was gray, with a little sliver at the top, some black trim. I used this color scheme and design to create the card I gave them at dinner last night.
We have had a fabulous weekend and have one more day of fun planned for tomorrow. We did all kinds of outdoor adventures. Here are a few highlights.
Hiking at Kanarraville Falls was awesome.
I think this is my favorite hike so far in Southern Utah. The boys really loved it as you can see and after Lisa and I stopped to take a photo, in an instant, the two of them were gone!
We were slightly disturbed at first but then we figured it was a perfect time for us to have some sister time together!!
The next day we did a summer adventure program with Paragon Adventures, the BEST adventure company ever!!!! We got to hike, rapel, rock climb, scramble, zip line and enjoy a delicious gourmet lunch together. If you are ever in Souther Utah, I HIGHLY recommend you check out Paragon. They are fantastic! You will be well taken care of and will have an adventure of a lifetime.
Today we spent the entire day hiking at Zion National Park. We hiked over 10 miles and up to an elevation of 6,500 ft. It was amazing but I bet our legs are gonna be sore tomorrow.
Although it rained a little bit early in the hike, it didn't dampen our spirits as we made the 4 mile trek to the top. Some people coming down from the top were complaining that due to the weather they couldn't see anything. That of course was a disappointment after all the effort to climb up there. We prayed that the weather would clear and God was faithful, when we got to the top, we had a beautiful view and no more rain!
When we finished at Observation Point, we decided to go into the Hidden Canyon hike which we passed on the way down. We were tired but we thought, "why not" so we pressed on and completed another beautiful hike there as well.
I am so grateful for the special time we have been able to share with Darren and Lisa. It's been a weekend of milestone anniversaries, 51 years for Dad and Mom, 25 plus for Darren and Lisa and the 1st of hopefully many more outdoor adventures together!
