I'm not a big fan of getting the mail. Obviously as you can see my mail box is in desperate need of repair and it is a daily reminder of something that needs to be taken care of. The mail is often filled with magazines I don't have time to read, advertisements for things I'm not interested in and BILLS!!! But whenever I open my mail and see a hint of rubber stamping on an envelope, it makes me SO happy and brightens my day and reminds me that receiving mail can be a blessing.
This week I was doubly blessed to receive not ONE but TWO hand stamped cards by two very special friends who wanted to congratulate me on receiving the Heart of Stampin' Up! award.
Receiving these two cards reminding me of the importance of sending cards. Even though creating cards is something I do almost daily, I am not very disciplined at sending them out. That is something I am trying to change this year. I often "think" of people I want to send a card to, whether to thank them for something, to let them know I am thinking of them or just to tell them how blessed I am by their friendship. So this week when I was contacted to participate in a "card shower" for a friend in need, I didn't just "think" about it. I set aside a few minutes to take action and create this card above. A "card shower" is where many friends join together in order to bless someone in need of some hand stamped encouragement and love. I hope my friend who will receive this card in a few days will feel the aloha and know that she is not alone.
Remember getting the mail can be something to look forward to. I hope you will be encouraged to take a few moments and send a card this week and spread some aloha to the ones you love.
