In my last post I shared about my friend Cindy of Zoe, Hawaii and how cute her Gingerbread houses were. I purchased a few for gifts this year and of course I had to pick one of my own. This year I choose one of her mini houses, decorated in traditional colors and I decided to use it as my inspiration to create a new card design this week.
I cropped one of our fabulous crumb cake note cards down to 3 x 3 1/2, trimming of the top edges after I attached a sparkly roof made from our washi lable punch and dazzling diamonds glimmer paper. I then embellished the front with as many colorful "candy like" products I could find. The gumdrops on the edge of each side of the card are made with our new Blushing Bride glimmer paper that will be coming out in our Handmade from the Heart Occasions catalog next month. Its Pink and Sparkly, two of my favorite things and I know I will use it often.
My favorite part of this card is the frosting. It was made with the "falala" thinlet that comes in the Seasonal Frame Thinlets Dies. This was a super fun card to make, especially at this time of the year. This card doesn't smell as good as the Gingerbread House Cindy made me does but hopefully its just as sweet to the recipient or better yet, wouldn't this make a great card to enclose with one of Cindy's adorable houses?
If you're looking for a fun project to try this holiday season why not try to decorate some gingerbread houses of your own. They are sweet, fun to decorate and the best part is they are calorie free.
