On Friday night I went out with my friends to celebrate Lynne who is the one sitting in the front in this photo. Karin, standing above her on the left was wearing the famous bird pin that we have been passing around between us for years. The rule is when you get the pin you have to keep it until you wear it in a public place. Karin was really brave in wearing it on this black dress where it was really noticeable.
After dinner we gave Lynne her gift. We knew she was saving up for something special so we thought up a creative way to give her a monetary gift. Karin made a $100 money rose and wrapped it up in a bouquet of pink roses. We then crowned Lynne our birthday princess, we gave her a crown and sash and presented her with her roses. The funny thing is she was a little embarrassed and her first words as we were giving her the sash was "I'd rather have the bird"!!! Well little did she know that when we were eating dessert, Karin inconspicuosly took off her bird pin and pinned it on Lynne's birthday sash. So we told Lynne that her birthday wishes came true because she not only got a crown and sash but was now the proud owner of the famous pin once again!!!
Here is the card I made for Lynne. It was all done up in Pink to match her roses and I added lots of bling so it would be a card fit for royalty.
Lynne loved her special card and we loved crowing her a birthday princess! It was also fun to find a creative way to present the famous bird pin when it was least expected. It was a great night out enjoying each other and celebrating Lynne who really is as gracious, kind and pretty as a princess!
