On September 30th, 2015 we said goodbye to our beloved cat Boots at the Waipahu VCA Animal Hospital #920. From the moment we stepped in the door of the hospital that day we were greeted with kindness, understanding, compassion and graciousness. That meant so much to my daughter and I who were having a really hard time accepting the fact that we were losing someone so near and dear to us.
I created this card for Dr. Tom and her staff to let them know how grateful we were for the amazing service and care they extended to Boots and to us. Little did we know that their compassion would extend beyond that day.
You see just a few weeks ago we received two very special gifts from Dr. Tom and her staff.
The first was this clay ornament that they had made for us that not only had Boots name on it but Boot's actual paw prints! We were brought to tears and amazed to receive such a special gift.
Next to arrive was this hand stamped card. Little did they know that my full time job is to teach others how to create hand stamped cards to use them for occasions such as these. Receiving this card meant so much to us, especially because of what was inside.
Tucked inside a tiny baggie was a few strands of Boot's soft fur that was hidden underneath a punched out heart. The words written by Dr. Tom and her kind and loving staff meant so much to us.
The set, You Little Furball, has so much more meaning to me now and I'm thankful that it has sentiments such as "I THINK YOU'RE PURR-FECT" and "LOVE YOUR CAT-ITUDE!" as those are words I was able to use to express to Dr. Tom and her amazing staff to thank them for demonstrating love, compassion, generosity and outstanding service. Mahalo Nui Loa, we truly do think you are "Purrr-fect" and we are so grateful for you!
