This weekend my friends beautiful daughter will be turing sweet sixteen and she will be having a Quinceanera to celebrate her special day!
In the party invitation there was a photo of the birthday girl wearing a beautiful Haku Lei. Of all the beautiful lei's made in Hawaii, this style of lei is one of my absolute favorites. I wanted to make a card for the birthday girl so I found my inspiration in the beautiful lei she is wearing in this photo.
This card may appear difficult to make, but I am a simple stamper so after laying a stamped leafy background using an image from the summer silhouette stamp set I just used that same stamp set and small punches and glue dots to create my own paper haku lei for the birthday girl.
I know her family is working hard on all the details of her big day and I'm excited to hear how everything comes together for this grand event. This certainly will be a wonderful celebration for a very special young woman. I wish her many birthday blessings on her sweet sixteen!
