My life is tremendously blessed by the ladies pictured here with me. We share a wonderful sisterhood and cherish the time we get to spend together. We've made it a tradition of getting together for our birthdays which makes it a perfect excuse for a fun girls night out.
This week we celebrated Karin's special day at the Thai Lao restaurant in Kapolei.
Dinner was absolutely delicious. We knew just what we wanted since we have celebrated there many times before. After dinner we gave Karin her gift wrapped inside of a cute travel bag. Since we were using the bag as gift wrap, I used it as inspiration to create a matching card. I LOVE stamping this way, where the starting point of my project is inspired by fabric, art, clothing, a photograph or in this case a cosmetic bag.
We were amazed at how perfectly coordinated Karin was with her gift and card and didn't even realize that we had chosen a bag that was in her favorite colors.
Karin loved the gift and card so much that she texted me this photo just minutes after getting home. It really made me feel happy knowing that she liked it as much as she did. Below is a closer look at the details of the card.
The black and white stripes were made of strips of basic black card stock. The flowers were created using the Beautiful Bunch Stamp Set Bundle that comes with the Fun Flower punch to make creating a card like this quick and simple. I used the Lots of Labels framelets to make a frame for the sentiment. I thought since we were buying her some beauty products (inside of the bag) that the words from the Birthday Blossoms stamp set would be the perfect match for this card.
The night ended as most of our outings do, with some type of broom being brought out and subtle hints given to us that the staff would like to clear our tables so they can close up for the night. They were super gracious but we knew since once again we were the only people left in the restaurant that it was time to go. We hate for these evenings to end because we really enjoy each others company and the special sisterhood we share.
I am glad that the night was special and that Karin truly had a birthday that was as beautiful as she is.
