Our October Inspiration Nights theme was Gratitude and Thanksgiving. Our make and take projects featured some of our newest stamp sets and accessories and each project was adorned with an antique brad.
This project pictured above combines our two featured stamp sets of the night Vintage Leaves and Acorny Thank You. The orange dots were made with a sponge dauber and some tangerine tango ink. I don't normally mix polka dots and leaves but I just felt like experimenting with this design and I ended up liking how it turned out.
This card shows how great it is to have framelets that coordinate with our stamps. I loved being able to quickly cut out these leaf shapes with my Big Shot.
I LOVE falling leaves, but its been a long time since my childhood in Michigan where I used to rake them and play in them. That was many, many years ago! I can't believe I've lived in Hawaii for just shy of 30 years! I know some of you might be thinking its probably been a long time since I've seen falling leaves since I made one of them BLUE.
I think this sentiment is so cute, don't you? Acorny Thank you is such a fun set and of course you know this pillow box has nuts inside, peanut m-n-m's to be exact. Some people opted to skip putting them inside the box and just eat them instead. Either way making this project was a sweet experience!
This next project is a small post it note holder. Its the perfect size to throw in your purse or to put on your desk. The Into the Woods designer series paper is featured on both of these favors. The antique brads are all unique and I think work really well for these Fall projects.
This final project is my favorite. It features black archival ink on a soft suede card stock. I then took a blender pen and dipped it in bleach to carefully color in the leaves. I love the combination of bleached out soft suede and delightful dijon. I have to admit I was a little nervous bringing bleach to inspiration night and told my downline to please be VERY careful.
But I didn't need to worry one bit because my downline are so awesome! Just look at how careful Sandy is being while bleaching her card with the assistance of her upline Sharie watching! We didn't have a single incident the whole night. In fact this was the most popular card of the night especially for those who had never seen this technique demonstrated before.
At the end of the night I was working at the front table and I turned around to see this group who had cleaned up the whole room and were asking me if there was any other help they could give me? That is something so common with these ladies and the warm aloha spirit they all possess. I am so thankful and grateful that they are a part of my stamped with aloha ohana. I am truly humbled and blessed to have each one of them in my life. Our theme was gratitude and thankfulness and that is what I feel towards these amazing women who bless my life day after day in so many ways.
As we approach the Holiday Season let's take some time to reflect on the things that we are grateful for. What are you thankful for today?
