We loved having Lori as one of our featured presenters at this years retreat. Lori created some adorable favors that I want to feature in today's blog post.
Although Lori is a pro at making her own box templates, this fun favor was created using one of our tiny treat boxes that she simply covered with Designer Series Paper. Rather than fold the lid of the box down Lori left it up and then simply reinforced it with card stock to make a quick and simple favor that you can fill with your favorite sweet treat.
This was my favorite project that Lori demoed. I love how she used the brick wall embossing folder to create what appears to be ice blocks on an igloo which is the perfect home for this stylish penguin who is so sparkly! Lori was inspired by a recent post from my friend Kim Williams at www.stampinwithkjoyink.com where she posted a bunch of adorable penguins made with the black glimmer paper.
You have to see this project in person to really appreciate it. This cute little guy not only is dazzling himself but he's wearing a sparkly hat, sparkly tie and standing in sparkly snow.
Inside the box you will see the perfect sentiment, wishing the recipient a sparkly season! This favor also holds the newest shaped hand sanitizers from bath and body works which are always a very useful gift to receive.
Lori and Kim both inspired me to do something fun with this adorable Penguin. Since my presentation was on embellishments and one of those being the metallic dollies, I found a perfect way to feature this cute guy on an empty spool of ribbon that I converted into an ornament.
Here is a closer look at the front of the ornament. I love how the winter wonderland embellishments looks like a beautiful broach! This is something that I'm sure my friend Kim would like to add to her scarf since like me she is a fan of jewelry, especially anything that sparkles and shines.
The back of the ornament has a sweet sentiment that I got from the embellished ornament stamp set to let the recipient know that I was thinking about them.
I bet if I formed a club and called it the "Penguin Pals" that Lori and Kim would be the first to join cause like me they really love this cute character that has won his way into our hearts and I'm sure will make many more appearances on our projects in the days to come.
