Our Holiday Retreat had live demonstrations, swapping, make and take cards and make and take 3D items. Today I want to focus on the cards that were a part of our make and takes.
A few weeks ago I gave you a sneak peek of this reindeer card. This was actually a part of set of 3 cards that fit into this sketched polkadot sheer tag a bag, The envelope is folded and secured with a 2 x 3 red card stock that has been stamped and is held together with one of our adorable reindeer clips.
The cards all use the same layout where you cut and flip the top corner of the card to create this unique fold. Then all of the card stock, DSP layers and punched pieces are the same sizes. I just used different colors and images to make them look unique. Here's a closer look at all three.
Packaging up a couple of these cards in one of these sheer envelopes makes a great gift for teachers, neighbors and friends. You could easily change the sentiment on these cards and use them for after the Holiday's thank you cards.
Another card that was a part of our make and takes was this one, which was made with the Reason for the Season stamp set. If you like two step stamping, this is a great set to have. You can stamp the outline and then the flower and leave it alone or in this example I took a blender pen and colored it in a bit more. This card also shows how you can emboss DSP for an interesting back ground. I love the addition of our Home for Christmas Designer Buttons. This button is perfect because it is a poinsettia shape. We used these buttons on several of our projects and each attendee got to take a whole package home with them.
I was super blessed to get great feedback on these card designs. So many who attended retreat said they could see themselves remaking these cards this Holiday season. That reminded me that every October I vow to work on my own Christmas Cards and usually I just say I'm gonna do it but don't make it a priority. So this year I hope to keep that vow and get to work on my own cards to send to friends and family. After such an inspiring weekend, I can't wait to get started.
Remember to come back again tomorrow to see the fun 3 D project make and takes we created. There are three of them and they are ALL projects I know I will make more of for the upcoming Holiday Season.
