Hope and Joy

Our 2015  Holiday Retreat is over!  It was a wonderful event and this week I will be posting many highlights from our 9th annual event.

We spent Friday night packing our kits and getting everything set up for the early morning start of our event.   It was our first time in the Kona Moku Ballroom at the Marriott.  After 8 years of doing events in the very special Leahi Ballroom I knew it would feel different because we loved that room so much and made many fond memories there.

It quickly became apparent to me after our arrival and set up that it was not the room itself that made this hotel special but the incredible staff such as Alan (pictured above) who work so hard to make us feel welcome and loved.  The staff at the Waikiki Marriott Beach Resort and Spa is outstanding and went out of their way in all departments to help us in every way.  It is also Annie, also pictured above who is our event planner who made this years event special as she led us so selflessly as she has in years past with such excellence and grace.  An event of this magnitude would not be possible without her so I am truly grateful for her leadership and heart.

When I checked into my room and looked out to my window to see this view all I could say is I felt like I was coming home!  I felt such peace and joy being at the Marriott, knowing that after set up I would not only get to enjoy dinner at Sansei (one of my favorite restaurants) but I would be able to get a good nights rest because Marriott Hotels have the most comfortable beds with the fluffiest pillows of any hotel I've ever stayed at.

Speaking of fluffy pillows, this Holiday Frame was the pillow gift given to any of our retreat attendees who stayed the night at the hotel.  It was so fun to leave these on the pillows of our guests rooms so they could be surprised and delighted with a beautiful gift that we hope made them feel special.

Lisa and Kehau let us know how appreciative they were for their gifts and that made us feel happy cause if our guests are happy then we feel we've done our job right!
